All things STOCKS

So funny. When I was in college I said one day I’m going to own a company that produces water because there will be a shortage since we’re going to decimate the ozone layer and all the trees and have a water shortage. Like Dune before I knew about it. Definitely was a highdea for me lol. I was convinced this invesment would make me one of the richest people in the world.

Unfortunately I think that investment might take closer to hundreds of years before you see your ROI and I don’t have that long to wait!

Love the mention. Maybe you, and my college self, will be right…

Anybody looked into some of the nuclear power companies out there? A lot of talk about small reactors powering data centers with the power output needed and the public pushback on data centers due to power needs, it feels like the path forward for the AI movement. Most of the companies I’ve looked at in the space seem prerevenue, but feel like there’s some potential for some real winners in there if you pick the right one.

I bought NuScale (SMR) last summer after it pulled back 40%. It’s fallen by 67% since. I’m not adding shares even after falling by nearly 80% off the highs.

Looks like all the revenue from current contracts dried up as they completed last quarter. They have some neat stuff on the horizon, some with TVA it looks like. I bought a lil just to keep up with it.

I am dabbling it in with a small position. Up 67% with a 3.30 average. As usual, the ones I go small in go wild. AIRJ and TE. The ones I go heavy in trade sideways or go down. CRSP and TEM.

Better off with a well diversified etf/mf portfolio in a tax advantaged accounts and just funding as much as possibly whenever you can

Asia pulling back today. Probably over oil/energy concerns again with Iran talks stalling and strikes starting up again. Buying the dip today.

What is the initial investment going to be? The chance of turning $10k or even $100k into $1M in 5-10 years buying a single stock is somewhere around a needle in a haystack. Nobody can tell you today who will be the next NVDA, and I'm not even sure that one of those exists, at the present.

The smartest move if buying a single security would be to pick a reputable ETF, such as VOO, QQQ, etc with a diversified number of holdings. You could get more aggressive with something like a tech or semiconductor ETF (e.g.SMH), but that's very risky.
Actually... a $10k investment in AMD stock 10 years ago would be worth over $1M today, so it is possible. I've done very well with my AMD stock, but one of the reasons it wouldn't turn into $1M is because (like me) people will sell some of it off to take profits on the huge gains, and try to keep their investments diversified.
