All things STOCKS

VIRT with a nice pop against this downdraft.

Looks like we're down 5% from the peak in the overall market.

MOS has been killing it for about a month.

RKT seems to be trending over the last 4 days. I am thinking I may reduce my exposure to it. PE is 5 if you believe that. Earnings apparently will be 11/08.

I've owned it a lot time, some of it, so my overall cost basis is 20. I have been selling covered calls at 20 so they're real cheap. putting them 2 weeks out and not making much. Some weeks I don't have them at all.

I have something to confess here. somehow, I got the idea to buy options on Progenity - PROG. I don't remember where I got it. It's going to the moon. Now I gotta figure out when to sell.

I think that RKT is under pressure due to the seasonality of home buying and the pandemic has lingered to the winter months and holidays. I’d think that RKT is highly, positively correlated to the home construction business and those high materials costs and the supply chain issues have slowed the industry down from its 2021 potential. RKT warned of slowing revenues or revenue growth last quarter and the stock has been under pressure but has not collapsed.

I think that demographics are good and will fuel a nice rally once the economy settles down. I would expect the long term trend in the US will be to expand domestic manufacturing which should lead to more housing infill in communities near manufacturing facilities and a lot of mortgage activity will result.

Of course weak political leadership could further derail the overall economy.

I got in on AMD years ago at $3.43 I’m up this morning 3,453.10%. I have sold some stock but I been thinking about taking my earnings. I don’t need the money I just don’t want greed to win. Since AMD been taking market from intel I’ve compared the two and the ceiling for AMD is not much higher.

Leave it in your estate for your heirs and there won’t be any capital gains taxes stolen from your family.

Not if Biden gets his way and eliminates the step-up basis...

What are your thoughts on setting up trusts for estate tax purposes. Is there a threshold where you think it makes sense?

Yes, I’ve thought about that idiot blowing up the most favorable tax treatments for the middle class. They might even attempt to grab some of the Roth capital gains. But even if he could succeed perhaps some future, sane political leaders would restore those parts of the IRS Code. You also have communist-socialists like Lizzy Warren, Bernie, and AOC wanting to do the opposite and grab a piece of accumulated wealth before it is even sold or given away to trigger a taxable event. The Left is absolutely despicable and they buy votes from envious, low information sheep by promising wealth redistribution and hand outs (while tearing down the capitalist system that has elevated EVERYBODY’s standard of living). I think I heard earlier today on CNBC that moderate Dems have blocked the free tuition giveaways of Biden’s infrastructure spending plan. Good for them. They need to take their party back from the extreme fringe that has been gaining power.

Seems like trusts work best in situations with lots of kids and grand kids coming behind the asset holders. Especially if there are some future beneficiaries that may not be very good at managing their financial business. I’ve asked my advisor about trusts and they haven’t made a case for it in my situation (maybe it would cut into their fees). So I’ve not read too much into them. I do see that several houses in my middle class neighborhood are owned by revocable trusts.

Biden’s only going to raise taxes on folks making over $400K a year - haven’t you guys been listening? Oh yea, also going to lower Medicare down to age 60 - that campaign promise sure disappeared quickly

Looking to trade HOOD. My last exit was around $46 and now it is around $35. But they might could blow up with adverse payment for order flow legislation. VIRTU might be safer as HOOD’s entire business model/revenue mix depends on those payments.

My INND play finally taking off. They announced a big time acquisition today and decision on FDA regulation for direct to consumer hearing aids should be coming soon.
