All things STOCKS

IDEX is pretty dependent on news, and the more they release and the more transparent they are, the more confidence investors are going to have in them. The negative PR they have been getting really tanked their stock. Still, at the very least I'd expect a spike near or over $3 closer to the ER on Aug. 11.

What do you think about this current dip?...ignore it or sell some?

SAVE has now bounced off that high $15-16.00 range three times. I personally believe that’s the floor and you’ll be able to ride to $18-25 from here before earnings.

Up $200 overall today!!!

But still down about $800 overall since I started lol. Groupon really bit me in the ass. Thought for sure that one would take off when states started opening back up.

If you were going at it from a traveling standpoint I would have went with (LTRPA) Groupon is way to jumpy for me but if timed right, the money is there for sure

Does anyone in here short stocks? Dont think im going to do it, just have been doing my research into it. Seems very dangerous and not something someone at my level of experience should do.

Unlimited downside. There are safer ways to bet on equities falling in value. Buy puts. Sell covered calls. Buy Bear ETFs. Or short a stock while pairing with calls for insurance.

On RH I can't do spreads yet, it said my account needed to do more options before granting me access. But thanks, the more I read into them the more I understand it, im just scared as hell I would lose my ass of doing that. Ive just been reading a lot about it lately and never really understood it so I figured id dive in and try to learn.

Most options expire worthless so the money is made by selling them. But watch out!

Well groupon isn't just travel and leisure though. They are offer goods and services too. I guess I overestimated just how many leisure and service businesses would reopen. It seems like most beauty spas in my area are still closed, or working half staffed.

Fair statement.i guess I assumed Groupon was strictly discounts on traveling.

I know this was talked about a little earlier but this can not be good news. My guess is we hear from Delta next? All 3 of the legacies might be in serious trouble.

I did with HTZ, CHK, and AAL. Those were just horribly mispriced. Even with those 3, I got out early.

Its risky and something I wouldnt do again.

Delta has cleanest BS of the Big 3. I think AAL is BK absent another bailout. I think UAL is in less trouble than AAL and DAL is safest of the Big 3. Still think LUV is the better play

The Bid/Ask spread is the difference between the price bid for an option and the price that an option is offered. They will surprise you how wide they are. At any one time, you may look in there and there will be 20 of them for sale (not 20 million). So it's different from stocks, and the friction of those bid/ask spreads costs you. You start out in the hole instantly, and then the option price has to move your way a bit just to get you in positive territory every time.

I would love to tell you I bought in after this and took place in the move in Avis Budget over the last couple of weeks, but I couldn't get comfortable with the rental car business. It's up over 35% in the last couple weeks.

I like Enterprise the best. Unfortunately they're privately held.

Car rental companies, airlines, hotels... I suppose there's not much or any lag when they start moving in this environment.

I can tell you that the rental car business right now is about as busy as it can get. If schools go back in the fall the retail side will slow down slightly, but the insurance business is going to be insane. Without hertz 500,000 cars, every rental business is going to be swamped for the rest of the year. This is an industry I can give you 100% facts on and not just opinion.

I do think that Avis is still about a $35 stock right now. I would buy at the current price.
