Dxcm, endp, NJ, mrna, regn -drugs largest holdings
Only pure financial is wfc.

I can't get my arms around Square (SQ). Is it a hardware company? Is it a payment processor? Do they compete with or partner with other companies in payment processing? Are they dependant on plastic credit cards? I suppose that they could do like Netflix. Start out as one thing and develop into something that doesn't necessarily resemble where they were at square one.

I think the banks are getting to a point that if you don't like them at this level, you're never going to like them. There will be headwinds for sure, but I think the stress test results could actually be a positive in the near term when it is fully digested. There may be some choppy trading in the near term, but I think we look back at these levels in five years shaking our heads.

Facebook may offer a great entry very soon if they don't stop hemorrhaging advertisers. The FB boycott was all fun and games until VZ announced they are pulling ads from the platform. That's a large customer to lose. I like Zuck's approach to the censorship issue, but Dorsey is winning the pr on that front. It will be interesting to watch it play out.

Commercial banking and traditional financial institutions sure need to be dynamic. I'm amazed that there are still so many brick and mortar branches around. C19 has likely accelerated their obsolescence. Demographics don't favor the old school, face-to-face model. Ally and Interactive Brokers might be hard to compete with minus the costs of having physical branches everywhere.

They also have a bank and payroll processor.

As someone that uses their products, they work fine, but lately they seem to be slipping in places and have had a lot of outages and confusion around how they're handling certain things with the PPP loans, etc. In my opinion they're doing the typical expanding too fast and losing sight of their core competencies thing.

I suppose that they need to leverage their foot in the door with small businesses using the hardware will be necessary in order to survive. Perhaps merging with other small business service providers or being taken over will be their eventual fate. Maybe a combination with a Paychex or similar operations makes sense.

Play with a 401k inside the 401k. Taking it out is asking for problems. I rolled over an old 401k IRA into my current 401k and the IRS sent me a notice a couple years later that I owed them $10k in interest and penalties. And that was a transfer that I had all my ducks in a row. They watch retirement accounts like a hawk.

I have let the company I am transferring to handle the paper work. That is Vanguard for me.
They will do a "transfer" or "direct rollover".

Were you able to get the p&I changed?

With all these airlines and cruiselines dumping assets to stay afloat, somebody with some money could snatch them up at bargain prices, start up a new company on the cheap, and be ready to go once COVID ends.

Plastic and use of venmo and similar. Primarily for smaller businesses. I have recently sold almost all of my shares, to get to more near cash. Trading in a SEP IRA.

They should have to get non governmental funding or go belly up. That is called capitalism. Then what you are suggesting would happen. Most likely before bankruptcy.

But muh muh muh CRITICAL BUSINESSES. ARRRRGGGH. There are a lot of companies, and hospital systems and insurance companies, that should be gone based on service alone.

We have used Square for about 8 years now. They’re a great company when it comes to credit card processing and small business loans. I participated in the pilot program of Square Capital back in 2013 when it launched. Since then I have taken 13 Square Capital loans. No paperwork or anything, they just take a % of your daily card sales until it’s paid back. They’ve halted the program due to CV, which I totally understand from their side, not knowing which small businesses will survive and which won’t. However, that’s a HUGE revenue stream for them and I imagine it will hurt them big time in the near future.

When they went public in 2015, they offered shares to us for $10 per share and I didn’t buy any. 🤦🏼‍♂️

XSPA ever gonna take off? Seems like a lot of build up but zero momentum. It's down a good bit this morning so was thinking about hopping in.
