All things STOCKS

It's 2008/2009 all over again compressed into 1/10th of the time frame.

That's when I started a small savings stock account in addition to my retirement accounts. I'm guessing it's up about 300% whereas had I kept in some money market or CD it would be a fraction of that.

It always overshoots on the downside, but it was unprecedented the way the country was shut down.

The after effects are going to play out for years. I hope that the shift away from China (CCP) doesn't fizzle out. It probably will though. Greed will win out over morality. Companies and countries will put up with the CCP's s*** as long as they'll be able to save manufacturing costs by staying active over there.

Anyone else on JCPNQ? (JC Penny). I bought a couple thousand shares at .20 about a week ago. Running .62ish today.

I'm probably gonna ride it for while; might tank after bankruptcy gets worked out but fun today.
I wanted that one over the weekend, but I can find their stock on Robinhood

Am I the only one who thinks there will be a lot of people holding the bag when this market straightens out? Sold a little more today at the end today. There is just some insanity with some of the stocks in this market now.

I do think that the markets have bounced back too quickly. The economic issues are going to take several years to unwind. But it has been a robust environment for trading. And there are still many names that have yet to run. The cap weighted averages are distorting the true situation.

I hear you....feels way too easy out there right now. It's going to reel in more casual retail investors and dump on them. I had a family member that bought some stock based off "what some guy wrote on stocktwits. He's going to eventually be holding bags soon...I guarantee it. A ton of FOMO out there right now.

Still way under pre covid highs on a lot of stocks though. We could flirt with 30k in the Dow by the end of the month.

This is why I have a couple long term stocks but basically sell when I've made enough to be happy in any particular stock. Sure, I'm probably missing out on some extra gains, but all I really need is little incremental wins that pile up.

Yep...everyone wants to hit homeruns but singles will add up just as nicely.
