All things STOCKS

My goal when I started two weeks ago is to double up my portfolio monthly. I put $1600 in my account. I'm exceeding that pace. I actually like Mondays now.😂
Looks like people are grabbing their profits on XPSA. I'm in at .85 so that isn't bothering me to much.

Wife interned at Enron (summer before implosion) so I think that clouds her individual stock thoughts. On a funny side note, I had chance to work for Arthur Andersen in Jackson, MS but passed on it because Jackson is a hellhole and I didnt want to do audit (Main company in the AA Jackson office was Worldcom). So of course, I took a job at Hilton Corp. office and 9/11 happened.

We've agreed that the IRAs and 401ks will have no individual stocks in them and that we will attempt to keep the value of total value of individual stocks in same range as total value of mutual funds (50/50). Of course, I think 59% is the same as 50%

Due to her work, I do have to run requests through her. She provides good insight at times (LULU) although we've disagreed on ULTA.

I can see Enron having a bit of an impact on her mind set when it comes to individual stocks. Our "tech" analyst use to have and probably still does have Enron and Worldcom stock certificates framed and hung on his office wall as a reminder.

I worked in the World Trade Center for a short period of time and did a presentation on the 44 floor two months prior to 911. Also, got back to flying to client meetings within two weeks of 911. The airports were empty. Going through Denver I remember being able to count 14 passengers in the terminal. Very strange feeling.

Also I'm kinda mad at myself. I wanted to jump on Hertz on Friday and didn't. Now they're up a decent amount today. Would've been a quick turnaround

Only regret I have right now is I wish I would have taken more of my savings into the market in March.

I did good job on the timing and getting funds into the market at those times. In hindsight, I would not have been as conservative. For example, I put 2x as much into HD (about as much of a layup as there was) than FIVE (which was beat up more).

That and I woulda broke my "No Airlines" rule

How long can small/mid cap keep outpacing mega cap? Here to stay or simply a function of current investing strategies?

Wow. Looks like all my stuff has shot up pretty good today. Also got into idex for .60 a pop
I like them. They aren’t in China trying to force EV on them, China mandated huge changes in the next 2 to 5 years from gas to electric. Their website says they're currently in talks with some US companies. Please let one of those be Tesla. 🤣

It's at .20 a share, I bought at .14, what's the problem?

I guess the issue is will they be able to knock down that $200mm of debt. That's a lot for a company with a market cap of $50mm. But that's why it's gone from what, $8 to 12 cents? How many and what type of vessels do the have and where are their routes? I'd guess they do a lot of China business with that much carnage in the stock. But if they can turn a profit and the interest rates on their debt are near zero it's a tempting trade.

Anyone else on JCPNQ? (JC Penny). I bought a couple thousand shares at .20 about a week ago. Running .62ish today.

I'm probably gonna ride it for while; might tank after bankruptcy gets worked out but fun today.
