not quite. both have very good history/tradition (i would give ut tradition). we play in better conference. we went to a better bowl game.

so his team may be a little better right now, but not by much, and I think Tennessee would win head to head, with ALL categories under consideration.

i havent given him much thought, but i could definatley warm up to him being in orange. ive always liked his personality, although his program has taken a step back in the last 2 years. do you think we will even make an offer?

You guys are smoking something if you think Calhoun is a bad coach. I doubt he would run the triple option if he were hired at Tenn. AFA's offense is a multiple formation offense only based around the triple option. It's the best offense to run for the type of players an academy has(unselfish) I also remember Nebraska running over the Vols in bowl games with the triple option.

The only reason the triple option is no longer popular is because players are all about themselves these days and not team oriented enough for such an offense. Nebraska ran that offense with top notch talent and look how they dominated. It is the most potent offense in football with talent. We run the spread here at UW, which could be considered just as "gimmicky" A pro style offense is certainly not the best X's and O's out there but it's there for recruiting and all the "me" 5-star athletes.

I don't know why no one said this until a few seconds ago - why aren't we going after Harbaugh with a 4-mil. a year offer? He only made an Ivy-league school with academics tougher than Vanderbilt into a contender in the PAC-10 within three years of arriving. He's probably as good of a coach as anyone in the NCAA. I say throw money at him and whatever else he wants.

Call me crazy, but I still hold out a little hope for Muschamp. They aren't even recognizing that he was targeted or offered at all. We all know he was, and they would say so if it were the case. This sounds like every other coach that has said he's happy where he is.

I am starting to think Kippy isn't a bad choice.... keep Chaney as OC and get Garner or Thompson as DC ... bring back Taylor...

that said, at least when Miles' dream job came calling, he had the integrity to honor his contract. I have been a big critic of Miles for his entire tenure, but the guy has integrity. Hopefully ya'll will get someone w/ Miles' integrity but one who knows how to use a clock also.

Even though it hurts now, I really believe this will turn out to be a blessing in the long run for UT. Kiffin is still unproven as a coach and has zero maturity or integrity. Best of luck to ya'll.

bet UT helped WM negotiate a hell of a raise for himself.

If you want to keep getting t handed to you by an SEC team every time you make it to the NC, it's a no brainer...stay in a weaker conference.

Hamilton stated emphatically in his PC, that he told Lane this weekend when Kitten admittted he was interested in the SC job, that this was the toughest, most powerful conference in America and that he THOUGHT kitten was a competitive guy...if he wanted to compete in the best conference there was no better job. He added, that the division between the conferences would only continue to grow wider as a direct result of our TV contracts.

This year's recruiting class was looking like an SEC casting call in the Top 5. It's just going to worse for these other conferences. Just as USC got on a win streak, earlier this decade and a subsequent media roll...now that has strongly shifted to the SEC, and USC will have it's treasured talent pool raided year in, year out.
