yeah, this is really kinda the thing you can't say one way or another on anything till ESPN confirms whatever the result is

Why would stoops leave ok. He's a head coach there and makes a ton of money. Total lateral move. Spurrier would come back to TN before Stoops would come. I got a feeling we're about to pull a coach that nobody would think of. He's gonna go ala Pearl on us again.

Has anyone mentioned Lovie Smith...and if so does anyone want him? He may be struggling in the NFL but the is college even in the SEC it is a step down. If you can get by in the NFL and recruit in college you are a stud coach. Hat I am curious who is it that you want? A list perhaps of your top 3 realistic options?

that definitely needs some sort of link, because i know certainly Brown has more than 2 years left on his contract

especially with getting to the BCS title twice in 5 years and winning it once

Lurked here for quite a while. LSU fan here. Kiffen really hosed ya'll. Hopefully things will work out for the better. I have a lot of family in Tenn and pull for UT in the SECe. I didn't see this posted yet, if it is, sorry. It was posted at 11:06 est tonight.

If word was given at 10pm, why was Joe Schad (by far the most reputable person covering this so far) the one who tweeted it just 30 or 40 minutes ago.

Muschamp is still sending smoke signals, making statements through school officials that first appear on a dallas morning news blog and Nashville news station?

Lets use our heads a bit here and this saga is probably far from over with Will.

I think the bears are going to retain him for another season, so I don't think UT feels they can outbid them...or that he's really interested

Relax everyone with the Calhoun and Cutcliff talks! Let Hamilton do some work. It's only been 24 hours! We can all speculate, but we will know nothing until its official! Mike Hamilton's job DEPENDS on making a "splash hire." He will not settle, and definitely not with his job on the line!

Which is an ambiguous statement. His agent could have been contacted, he could have been contacted by a scouting agency or his agent could have been contacted by a scouting agency.

Word is that Patterson hasn't be contacted(and likely won't be).

Cutcliffe didn't want the job last year, and probably doesn't want it now.

Calhoun would likely accept UT's offer, but many fans don't want him. It's also apparent that the players/recruits don't want him.

So... Vols fans, it seems like we were all in on Muschamp, and we lost the hand. Where to now? I feel like we're walking around in the dark waiting until we find the lightswitch.

I don't understand bashing the Big 12 when Tenn is looking for its next coach from that conference. If they truly are a bunch of cupcakes, then does it take a real coach to win in that league.
