All I ask do not blame kicker

He nailed the 48 yarder in OT, but missed the one that mattered. I just don’t understand why Heupel threw Gilbert out there right after we lost 5 yards. That only increased the pressure. Why not try to get a little back on 3rd down?
Afraid of another penalty or bad exchange resulting in a fumble. You expect 43 yarder to be made. But he pushed it wide right. Game was lost opening of third quarter.

Well I won’t get over it. You cant give away a win against a team like that at home. They are too hard ti come by and you can’t waste a performance like that. So many chances to finish it and not even need that kick. Trust your team to do what they’ve been doing. So many times in that game they went away from it, and it angers me. No excuse to lose this game. Lots of season left. Good team, good coaching staff, etc, but an absolute gift of a win to a team I hate.
I don’t disagree. We did gift it to them.

He was afraid of another penalty I suspect. Knows his team or coaching scared? Dunno.

Yep this one is on Heupel
It never fails .it's always the coaches fault ..cjh is one the best coaches in college .He put us in very good situations today we got to catch the ball .some pi calls from under or over thrown balls .and ga picked on our freshman corner .Nah this was a all out fight and ga got the bounces they needed and beat us ..Let's not blame anybody .Remember I say again we wasn't even ranked in some polls at start of season .Tennessee showed fight today .Fight we haven't seen in a bit .If we still have Nico we get beat by 35

We're inside a minute at the 30 with TOs and it looked like we were setting up for a 40 ydish fg.
Why not try to make it a 30ish fg? Or chip shot?
Just too conservative imo.

I jwasn't surprised when he pushed it right. Kinda like my 9 iron.

This game should have been over prior to that .
It’s true; a game never comes down to one play. But when the breaks go your way…. Score.

He’s a good kicker and I don’t “blame” him for the loss but he didn’t do his job on that play.

Plenty of plays where other players and coaches don’t either.

It stinks to give one away but we showed heart and resilience. Proud of our boys.

I’m in the same boat. Completely confused, but not necessarily surprised, when I push anything between my 56 degree up to my 8 iron right. It ALWAYS goes straight on the range and then….. ———>

It was his 1st game winning kick. He's been great and will have a very successful career here. It didnt bother me. I assumed he'd miss.

Hes not been great. He missed 3 FGS against OU and others against UK last year that made the games a lot closer than they should have been. He's a choker pure and simple.

we have 40,000 students on campus, surely some frat has a better kicker than him.

I’ll ask a question. Did it seem like he had forever on the sideline in his head before the kick. It just seemed like he had a lingering than normal amount of time to get in his head and he was walking all over the place

Dude was 20-26 and 3 of his misses were from over 50, 2 over 40 and only one under 1 AS A FRESHMAN.

What are you smoking?

Should have never ran a play that could lose yardage.

Probably none feel worse than Gilbert. Seems he had too much time to think on it and allowed his pulse to affect his legs. Might have been better if he had to run on much like the GA Tech kicker and kick it without all the time. Difference is he nailed a 55yd game winner and Gilbert missed a basic chip. You win a lose this way.
