Communism is where you fire the capitalists and replace them with party controlled bureaucrats who do what the government tells them. Fascism is where you let the capitalists retain their position as long as they do what the government tell them.
In both cases, central planning makes economic decisions and squashes personal liberty. The only difference is whether the man sitting in the company director‘s chair is wearing a business suit or a party uniform.

I am opposed to anything not covered by one of the enumerated powers of Congress as listed in the Constitution.

If it is not one of these, the ninth and tenth Amendments prohibit the Federal government from doing it.
If a state chooses to implement something else; that is for the citizens of that state alone to decide.

Unless you’re in a former confederate state and a dictatorial prez wants you to redraw your voting districts because he’s “entitled” to house seats, then the citizens have no say 🤷🏻‍♂️

Does Trump tell McDonalds what to put on their value menu or tell Target how many of what dresses to stock?

The citizens have 100% of the say. This is. REPRESENTATIVE democracy, not a DIRECT democracy. The people can vote representatives out of office who don’t do their will and elect new ones who will. Or in some state, citizens can vote on specific issues, AS LONG as they follow the state constitution.
Just admit the obvious; the Republicans are simply playing the game better right now (for the first time in my life).

I understand perfectly, that the current regime is much more like a dictatorship than I am comfortable with.

I understand that as the constitution didn't create fire departments, police departments, sanitation collection, environmental laws, laws pertaining to public health or education (you know those socialist programs) that you oppose them.
