So I was lucky enough to get invited to watch the game this weekend in the BB&T skybox. Does anyone know if they allow drinking? I know that you can't drink elsewhere but thought the skyboxes were exempted for some reason. Insight anyone?

I thought the skyboxes were loaded on Fridays. Can't remember where I read that so I may be completely off base

Trust me, those people drink it up just as much as the ones in the bleachers do.

If your box owner is a drinker then you can drink all you want. He should have it stocked already. If you want to bring something you will not get searched either..Yet I have to hide mine like a criminal in my socks. You would not believe how many airplane bottles can fit into a pair of baseball socks..GO Vols. IMO the sky boxes are boaring. Yea the drink and the food is great but you are seperated from the atmoshere of the game. I go eat and drink with Kings and queens then go back to the common fan to enjoy the game..

I think you will be drinking for two. I don't think your companion is allowed.

question..where have you been patted down? I have been putting the slender pints in my front pocket going through gate 21 and 22. Only one time I was caught was last year UCLA when I really needed it.

I have a friend that gets to sit in the Skyboxes a couple games a year. (And yes I'm jealous). Not sure where it comes from but he said they have anything you want, from alcohol to ice cream.

I haven't been patted down ever at the big ramp. Gate 21 I think? If you go in with the crowd up the big ramp within half an hour of kickoff you won't be patted down.

As far as skyboxes, can't help you.

A young man was stopped right in front of me last Sat. entering gate 3. Usher pulled up the guy's shirt and there was a half pint or pint of Crown sticking out. A cop was on him like white on white rice. He looked overserved but I did not think he did anything to bring attention to himself. Me and mine kept walking. Not sure if he lost his ticket.

There will be plenty of Champagne and Caviar for consumption. They will also provide these to assist you in enjoying the game

the glass is magnified so you can see very easily, there are tvs to watch the replays, there is a waitress that takes care of anything you could possibly need, the food is great: something nice for the first half and then regular ball game food in the second half (nachos, hot dogs, etc.) plus there is an ice cream cooler with all kinds of frozen treats.

The box owner has to check the booze in on friday, and as long as you are fully stocked you can drink as much as you want... but when you take it out of your box and into the common areas your waitress will ask you to put it in a cup (avoid beer cans).

Its a fun experience and its best done during games like this one where its not a big game and you won't be missing anything by not sitting in the student section. If the game gets out of hand you change to some of the other games taking progress on the tv too so you can keep up with everything thats happening in the world of college football.

enjoy.
