Alcohol in the Skyboxes?

I'd dare you to stand on the front row in the box and tell them you're not sitting down. Double dog dare

So I was lucky enough to get invited to watch the game this weekend in the BB&T skybox. Does anyone know if they allow drinking? I know that you can't drink elsewhere but thought the skyboxes were exempted for some reason. Insight anyone?

I'll be nearby, If you want me to knock, and hand you a nice thick Bourbon and water let me know.

you can drink all you want in the skyboxes--top shelf stuff on tap up there. Those millionaires only drink the best---no jack daniels up there--only woodford reserve and makers mark.

was in a skybox last week. owner had brought in the booze before gameday. its interesting to see a game that way but i prefer the stands. something about people spilling their drinks and throwing up makes it seem like a real game.....the best part is they get those folks out of their parking garage so well they miss most the traffic

Shoot, I know lots of rich guys that drink JD exclusively.

So if I stock my pants on Friday with my stash, it's legal to take into the stadium, right?

Double standard, I don't like it. Posted via VolNation Mobile

I agree with the guy that says sky boxes are boring. They're absolutely terrible to watch a game in. You lose the energy of the crowd and action, our sky box seems to get all foggy and hazy in the glass (during cold games), and some dude has to wipe the glass with his special squiggy. And the fans, if you want to call them that, are the worst!! Absolutely no spirit, at least in the box I usually go to. Enjoy all the pretzels, cocktail weiners (boring conversation), and Bud Lite you want, then try to figure out a way to ease your way out and hang out with the groundlings (yellin' and stompin') and have a blast!

I haven't ever watched a game in the sky box but I have a feeling I wouldn't last the whole game. I would be screaming when the team was on D even though it wouldn't even do anything!

you consider woodford and makers "the best"?

This is somewhat off-topic, but several years ago my wife and I watched a Titans game from a skybox. It was so quiet that I had to open the window, even though it was cold, just to get a sense of what the crowd was doing. Since then, I've never wanted to watch a game that way. Okay, I take that back - after we were dominating WKU last year in that 120 degree heat, I gladly would have gone to a skybox.

It's one of the few opportunities to watch the Vols win from the great new comforts Hamilton added.

Enjoy it... they only cost UT fans a return to a winning tradition. I wonder if the Ducks and Gator games were easier to endure inside the comforts of the new facility.

A lot of Vols put a lot of heart and energy into building those so Hammy could claim the glory.

You will enjoy it. It's a little different than being in the stands but one of the reasons I like it is you can watch the game without having to listen to "experts" sitting near you. Being able to control who sits around you at a game is priceless.

No they don't.

I agree. I was lucky enough to get to attend a game in my companies sky box last year vs. Memphis. If drinking Heineken and eating steak makes the game "less" fun. Count me out of the fun crowd.

and the 30 yrd. long buffet of awesome food...and beer, and if they stock it....good ole TN Whiskey. It was a rare occasion where I felt like a king. Hate if you want to, but it is awesome.....even if only to experience once:)

A young man was stopped right in front of me last Sat. entering gate 3. Usher pulled up the guy's shirt and there was a half pint or pint of Crown sticking out. A cop was on him like white on white rice. He looked overserved but I did not think he did anything to bring attention to himself. Me and mine kept walking. Not sure if he lost his ticket.

did he have long hair and a squirrel hat?

the glass is magnified so you can see very easily, there are tvs to watch the replays, there is a waitress that takes care of anything you could possibly need, the food is great: something nice for the first half and then regular ball game food in the second half (nachos, hot dogs, etc.) plus there is an ice cream cooler with all kinds of frozen treats.

The box owner has to check the booze in on friday, and as long as you are fully stocked you can drink as much as you want... but when you take it out of your box and into the common areas your waitress will ask you to put it in a cup (avoid beer cans).

Its a fun experience and its best done during games like this one where its not a big game and you won't be missing anything by not sitting in the student section. If the game gets out of hand you change to some of the other games taking progress on the tv too so you can keep up with everything thats happening in the world of college football.

enjoy.

nicely put...my best box experincewas in Green Bay and the owner had a double box..
One on top of the other, with stairs conncting the twoi and outside box seating it was awesome
