Alabama Rivalry Survives!

well, if you remember the tradition of winners smoking cigars you must have a true sense of the rivalry unlike so many of the younguns who post here & think 2000 was the old days..:hi:

I remember Jackie Walker, the "blue Max," Eddie Brown.

I remember Terry Davis, Johnny Musso, Robin Parkhouse.

What in the world were you doing that year?

Kind of funny that out of the entire state you pick the 10 minutes of coastline that you have. I don't know that I would brag about swimming in the sewage from Mobile Bay, just sayin.....My folks live in N. Alabama and some of the country up there is as pretty as Tennessee. I will take the Smoky's ANY DAY over that stretch of sand that you have in S. Al. If I want to go to the beach, I will go to FL, don't have to pay Bama's ridiculous sales taxes there.

Alabama has 53 miles of coastline, and 12 mountains.I was born in Dothan,Alabama by the way. To each his own, I wil take South Alabama ANY DAY, especially during those cold, dreary days of winter up in those mts.

1) Mobile Bay does not count in the coast line measurement.
2) I grew up in the "mountainous" region of Alabama. There are NO mountains in AL. You may call them a mountain, but there are NO mountains in AL. I live on a hill taller than any "mountain" in AL.

Not only the cigars, but Johnny Majors as a player, and even further back, Harry Gilmer for Alabama. Saw my first Ala/Tenn game at Legion Field in Birmingham around 1950. Tennessee was the "game of the year" in those days. During the mid-fifties Bama couldn't beat anybody, even with Bart Starr at QB, but that lapse led to the hiring of Coach Bryant.

The conference needs a strong Tennessee. Rooting for it to happen soon, although I can't root for you in the rivalry.

I'm very glad that we'll keep playing. While I don't consider yall worthy to be on the same field as us, I do think you are more worthy than any other team in the SEC. That's why this is the only rival board that I'm a member of.

Man we are privileged! Go to damn he!!

Not going to argue with you, look it up for yourself. Just stating the facts.

Oh, so your claiming a mountain that Tennessee also has claim too.... man I'd rather just stay on the Tennessee side.

1. The peak of the mountain is in Georgia.

2. The fact that your only counterpoint is to reference a mountain that spans three states is laughable.

Just basic U.S. geography. I prefer the coast so you can have all claim to those mts, but quess the people in north Alabama don't feel the same way.

Well you just go ahead and enjoy your "coast". I have visited, and I wouldn't Pi$$ on it because I'd hate to make your property value go up.

Well we finally agree on something. Doubt you could afford any of the property here anyway.

Wow that's some years of experience. Correct me if I'm wrong but after a tie in the 60's Bryant kicked in the door to the lockeroom and stated "a tie is like having to kissing your sister".

Little known fact, he then turned around and kissed his sister.
