Alabama Rivalry Survives!

K,

Help me out with something. I was just over at Tidefans.com seeing their reaction and it seems that is abotu 3 to 4 fans that wished that the series wasn't kept.

It seems like a lot of your fans are over the Auburn and Tennessee rivalries and just want to play everyone...I don't understand why a fanbase so entrenched in tradition is wanting to throw away such tradition riched rivalries?

I was confused.

The name of the thread is entitled, "Alabama-Tennessee series in Peril."

Sounds like the consensus is more about the threat of cancellation of a historic series. Don't worry orange-man, the afterglow of your retina burning color is forever etched in Bama glare.

There is no rivalry between Arkansas and South Carolina. Arkansas and Missouri is a natural rivalry. South Carolina will get the new guy, again.

Mizzou/A&M is a natural rivalry too. Either way we are left with a terrible rivalry game. SC/A&M? Seriously? Id rather see the two teams play that have already been playing for years.

Yeah, Mizzou/Arky are permanent rivals now. The change doesn't make much sense to me either, but there it is.

I'm in Arkansas and I will say there is a lot of bad blood between the two states, but I would have maintained SC/Arky and aTm/Mizzou myself.

Losing playing A&M each year's (probably) got to sting for Missouri in the (somewhat) long run...they've been recruiting Texas pretty heavily the last several seasons

Currently NO ONE can complain about this but The UT, and we ain't complaining! I think USC, UGA, UF, and AL EVERY year is about as wicked as it gets for a conference schedule.

I get the feeling we'll be at 9 conference games soon.

2 more in the East and Mizou goes back to the West and we go to 9 games, it's a comin. Just a matter of when.

I would hope so, but they also just pretty much voted down the idea.

Coaches don't want to give up one of their [3-4] easy cupcake games; the ADs are scared of losing one of their money games

As is, it looks like such a move likely isn't going to come any time soon unless it's forcibly pushed by the Commish (like Kramer did with the SEC Championship game, despite complaints from the same groups)....or unless (somehow) they're really just forced into taking it

Sacrifice, that was what I was thinking.

Sacrifice, as in human. Fodder, as in canon. Bug, as in windshield. You know, the viles, as in tenessee.

Somethings should never change.

Odd, I would have thought you would have picked viles.

I have read your post numerous times and for the life of me I can not figure out what the hell you are talking about.
You are the guy people talk about when they make fun of inbread retards from Alabama.

TV will force the move, I think. CBS doesn't want to give any more money as it is. The SEC will have to compensate by not playing cupcake teams. One more SEC game per team will bring ratings up substantially one would think.

I'm very glad that we'll keep playing. While I don't consider yall worthy to be on the same field as us, I do think you are more worthy than any other team in the SEC. That's why this is the only rival board that I'm a member of.
