I'm afraid that would be the truth. He for certain would move quickly past the honeymoon period and into the wtf period for most fans.

I can't believe he would do that though. Friend is a much more likely and better option. Even though promoting a guy whose responsibility was seen universally as a liability would also zoom most right out of the wait and see or blame Butch mode.

Hopefully it whomever he chooses will be successful from day one and not need to do a bunch of on the job learning..

I don't see him bringing in Probst as an OC, maybe a position coach.

Yurcich seems to be holding out for an HC offer, and has no desire to make a lateral move, especially to a struggling mid/bottom-tier SEC school in the middle of a multi-decade rebuild, with a first time HC.

Pruitt isn't going to let Will Friend go, period. Bill Belichick could offer to come here as OC under the condition he could bring his own OL coach and Pruitt would say no.
