I would have fired the guy for simple stupidity, not to mention terrible judgement. I wouldn't want someone that stupid working for me. If he's so stupid to say this on Twitter using his own name, then what stupid thing will he do at work to make the business suffer? They guy said he wished the player had knocked the woman's head off. That's at the very least a stupid thing to say, and could be a warning signal that something very ugly lies beneath the surface with this guy. If you are the business owner, you can't take a chance - not just for the business bottom line, but also the safety of your employees.

It’s called accountability. What happened to personal responsibility in our country? So instead of blaming the individual, we blame everybody else?

Accountable for what exactly? What law did he break? Saying some dumb things in the internet isn't exactly new. People went out of there way to stalk his other social media pages and tagged his company to get him fired. It isn't like good company was keeping tabs on him.

This is cancel culture 101 and I don't support it in any way, shape, or form.

Geeze people these days are so soft and companies are so afraid of the cry baby movements its ridiculous. If I owned that company I'd laugh and say what is Twitter and why should I care.
As a previous employer, it’s one thing to be “afraid of crybaby movements” and another to ignorantly employee trash.

Weak move by the company, but that is how soft our society has gotten! What the guy said was distasteful but he don’t deserve to lose his livelihood.

This country better hope we never get invaded by one of the big 3 because they will roll thru us like Moses thru the Red Sea! The only advantage the U.S. has is technology.
Sure he does. Hope he gets hit by a car.

As someone who has put his own foot into his mouth more than once and gotten in trouble for it, I agree with you 100%. We are responsible for what we say publicly. Free speech means we can say it and the government isn’t going to stop us. It doesn’t mean people can’t choose to not associate with us because we did.

Not really.

It’s what happens when someone acts dumb in public and it’s bad business to be associated with them. Been happening since the beginning of time.

Hiring openly stupid people is always a sound business strategy

Everywhere I've ever worked has employed openly stupid people. The companies generally seem to do quite well despite that.

I know nothing about this cat other than he made a dumb comment.

It's not cancel culture. It's called not wanting stupid people to work for you.

It's absolutely cancel culture. Tweeting someone's work about the comments they made in order to get them fired is the very definition of cancel culture.

Not quite. He made a dumb comment that got noticed, picked up on buly social media and later traditional media, and brought his bosses the kind of headaches where they had to decide if he was worth them. Apparently he wasn’t. I don’t wish the guy ill and hope it was just a very poor taste joke, that he can learn from this, move on and be successful, but I don’t blame his employer at all.

So this guy should not have a job for posting something dumb online... Got it. I guess he can always live off the government and take your tax money.
No he can get a regular middle class job like every other working class American. Because he got fired from a cushy media job, he has to resort to welfare? Lmfao

There is a level of dumb. Once you cross it you go away. He crossed it. That's not cancel culture. That's your just too dumb.

You can disagree with your boss. Unwise to disrespect them.

You can have an opinion that your boss disagrees with. Unwise to state one publicly that appears to support violence. This isn't hard

It’s only game over for him if he lets it be. Many many people make mistakes and recover from them.

Feral Bammer will probably find useful employment wiping Saban's windshield like other losers before him. If he doesn't, then he can just do what comes naturally to those morons...

We have people here literally saying companies shouldn't hire him/people like that. The only other option is welfare if no one should hire him.

People tweeting his company is cancel culture. That's literally what cancel culture is. Trying to get someone cancelled for something they said/did.

You can say he deserved it all you want. That doesn't stop it from being cancel culture.

Lol. Yep Waffle House needs cooks. He will be fine and not need gov assistance. It wouldn't shock me if this mental midget uses it as an excuse to be a failure though

DAMNED if you do, DAMNED if you don't.
You fire someone and get in trouble.
You don't fire someone who advocates violence against women and then they do it in the workforce and you are TOAST when they do it and weren't let go because you knew of that tendency!
Slippery Slope!
Many lawyers would love to take that case if it happened.
There is now EVIDENCE that the company knew about it!

CYA! Cover your butt!

I don't see why anyone would be fired, his company was not mentioned in the tweet. People can have any opinion they want as far as I'm concerned. Twitter is a cesspool, now we're going to start singling out one turd from the other. I would hate to have that job.

Have you ever hired anyone? Unless you’re hiring for a government, social services, nursing/doctorate, etc type of position, you’re not going to go digging that hard. He’ll have 0 issue applying at Walmart.

It's not cancel culture bc it's deserved. So cancel culture for you is anytime society says hey your employee is a dip **** and should be fired? Every time. And you are always against that huh? Stupid game you are playing.
