'19 AL WR George Pickens (UGA signee)

I’d assume since he goes to Hoover. Pruitt is well aware of what he needs to qualify. If Pruitt does decide to roll the dice. I’d think that shows he thinks they have a good chance to get Pickens qualified.

who cares about 4.7? Just because someone doesn't have blistering speed doesn't mean they're not elite. There are a plethora of great receivers in college and the NFL who aren't burners. IMO doesn't matter at all.
I think speed is what this team needs outside. I hope he’s a Vol and is great, but UT has guys that can use their body to get open. They need guys that can run away from people

I don’t understand why we lose a scholarship if the kid doesn’t end up qualifying and never enrolls at UT. I could see how we miss out on somebody who could have otherwise gotten the spot had we not held it for Pickens, but why do we lose a scholarship for a player who never ended up getting one from us?

Because of the Houston Nutt rule a few years ago. Nutt signed 37 kids in a class knowing over a dozen of them would go to JUCO. At that point you could still sign and place and the non-qualifier would not count against you. Now you sign you tie the spot up of a non-qualifier with one of your 25 initial counters. Why UA did not let Jordan Davis sign and his spot is available for this class

Flip Watch Rivals - George Pickens

Committed to: Auburn

The buzz: Pickens has been one of the most talked about prospects in the country the last month and a half. After not signing with Auburn in December, Pickens, without hardly saying anything, has captured the interest of much of the country. LSU was viewed as the biggest threat at one time, but the Tigers appear to have fallen down his list. Georgia and Tennessee are two programs to watch now. He was in Athens a couple of weeks ago and Tennessee will host the five-star wide receiver this weekend. Can Auburn hold on? It looks to be 50-50 right now and Pickens has everyone guessing as we inch closer to Signing Day.

Can't coach speed....but you can't coach 6'5' either. Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.63. But like the poster above said...catch radius.
