AJC's SEC Prediction

So who would be our one sec win this year? Just another hack in a long line of hacks that seems to be growing by the day. 4-8 is a pure biased hack opinion. On the other hand we could lose 8. That would mean crompton and stephens worked extra hard this year at sucking.

Like I said we worked hard to screw up the UCLA, Aub, and Wyoming game, any worse and you could tell that we deliberately sucked.

This only proves that the AJC is comprised of nothing but idiot savants; nothing rational can be detected in the jestures they put forth.

I will take a piece of that action.
We finish 7-5 minimum, 8-4 if we are lucky and 9-5 if very lucky.
A losing season is not even in the equation this year. We will have both more character and more toughness which goes a long way.

AJC is another failing newspaper. I live in Atlanta. It was recently announced they are moving from their 130 year old location downtown to a smaller spot in the burbs. They now only occupy 30% of their old place. That tells you why AJC will do anything to get people to talk about them. This is a prime example. Nothing reliable is in the AJC any longer.

4-8 would really suck since tennessee and ohio state are the only two teams in ncaa history to never lose 8 or more games in a season. I really didn't think we would make history In clk's first season. I really think this is crap though, I expect 8-4, 7-5 @ worst.

Does this writer not know that we have beaten KY 24 years in a row??? Has he not looked at our schedule with 8 homes games? Let's see how UCLA handles the 2,000+ mile trip across the country this year. The only likely losses are Florida and Alabama. I'm not buying this Ole Miss being a Top 10 team. We can beat everyone else on our schedule. We have one bad year and all of a sudden the national media thinks we are one of the worst teams in college football.

Florida, Bama, UGA, Ole Miss are the most logical loses. Ole Miss and UGA are our best shots at "upsets" IMO.

the QB situation needs to smooth out a little and we need to stay healthy, or we could lose a close one to one of USCjr or Auburn.

5 or less wins: Nick Lamaison is the starting QB & EB has been forced to play Gaurd due to injuries
6-6: worst.
7-5: most likely.
8-4: best.
9-3: luck+act of god.

It really doesn't bother me that the media is saying we are this bad. It's just going to make other teams believe their gonna have a cakewalk. When they walk into a buzzsaw they won't know what hit them! It's going to make it that much sweeter to shove their words down their throats.:clapping:

4-8 seriously???.. Ok time to put down the crack pipe. Last year UT had one of the worst seasons ever. They still managed to beat Vandy and KY. Maybe I can get a job as a sportswriter. I dont think I could do much worse than this guy.

I live in the metro atl area. Stories like this is why I don't even pick up the sports page that often anymore (or the rest of the paper for that matter).

To Mr. Bradley, and all sportswriters of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

From: Big Orange Nation.

Subject: Your SEC predictions.

Gentlemen,

I write this today as a proud fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. I find myself sickened and disgusted by your blatant lack of anything approaching sports knowledge, as well as your rampant "homerism" as pertaining to all teams not named Tennessee. Recently, during your misguided "predictions" of the records of the teams in the Southeastern Conference, you picked the Volunteers to finish with four wins and eight losses. How this would be achieved is beyond my grasp, but allow me to refute your argument by introducing you to the cast of characters that will do all in their power to ensure that this eventuality never comes to light.

Head Coach Lane Kiffin: Okay, I'll give you the fact that our new head coach has already drawn the ire of Saint Urban on his first day on the job; and probably angered Pope Timothy the XVth as well. However, he is still the very same man that learned at the side of Coach Pete Carroll, and is the very same man that took on the unenviable task of correcting the myriad of problems with the NFL's Oakland Raiders. Coach Kiffin, while hamstrung by the owner of the team, actually succeeded in improving one of the NFL's most anemic offenses in his short time there. I see no reason why he will be unable to do the same in Knoxville, where he will be able to do as he sees fit.

Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffin: A man that really needs no introduction. A man that led the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense to finish in the Top 5-10 for what, 10 years or so?? A man that All-American safety Eric Berry (more on him momentarily) once called "the Google of defense". A man that walks on the job and inherits a defense that finished third in the nation the prior year in total defense. Barring injuries to every player on the starting defense, I see no reason for our defense to slip any under the tutelage of Coach Kiffin the Senior.

Eric Berry: Arguably the best safety to ever put on a helmet for the University of Tennessee, and a player that is being talked about (before playing a single snap this season, mind you) for the most prestigious award in all of college football. But, if you need an introduction, give Knowshon Moreno a call up in Denver. Ask if he remembers #14 from Tennessee last year.

I could very well go on with this, but I have neither the time nor the inclination to do so. I find myself still attempting to rationalize how you allowed yourself to write such a mistake-filled article. A little research never hurt anyone, gentlemen. But, inasmuch as I am a Volunteer fan, I'm also a realist, and somewhat of a pragmatist. Therefore, I propose a wager. If Tennessee finishes with more than four wins, you print an apology for underestimating our coaches, our players, and the "12th Player", the Volunteer fans. And, if you are correct, and Tennessee finishes with only four wins, I will post on YouTube videos of myself going to each college that we lose to, in full Tennessee regalia, and allowing every passer-by to heckle and ridicule me for two hours.

I thank you for your time, and in closing, want to say this. It's great to be a Volunteer.

Thank you,

JimBeamVolsFan
