Ainge going off on Kiffin

Kiffin is a snake and will bail on us again. Let's see if he puts up pictures of Reggie Bush and all his USC players, like he did last time, instead of honoring all the great past players at UT.

Hiring Kiffin again would be like taking the hot girl back after she cheated on you. We should be better than this and I can't believe the support I see on this board for rehiring a worm like Kiffin.

This is exactly right.

I hope it isn't this path.

I will say, I would get behind him if he is hired. But with the Haslams ego I really don't think they would ever rehire him.

i think it's a tough sell for sure. what bugs me more about anything right now is the absolutes people speak in...Ainge is out if he's the guy. great. others on this board are out.

i guess my thing at this point is with the situation we're in, what on God's green Earth is productive about ultimatums?

at this point, if it were me, and i was charged with making this decision....my goal would be "options and paths".

what options do we have, and what paths are available for that to be successful? what are the roadblocks?

seems all we do is talk about the roadblocks.:peace2:

Kiffin is not the answer. We would just continue on as the laughing stock of college football.

Kiffin's name was brought up at the Knoxville QB Club yesterday. Hyams asked how many people in the room wanted Kiffin. Less than 5 people raised their hands and they quickly put them down.

The old folks and old money understand loyalty and Kiffin has none. He is not the answer.

Yeah, but I really like hot girls and I'm desperate to avoid bedding a minger. :)

What ainge and everyone else needs to realize right now is that Nobody worth a $hit wants to coach Tennessee football right now unless we grossly overpay them. Kiffin is our best option as far as talented coach that wont screw us on pay.

that's great coming from the biggest butch fan

Exactly! Ainge hasn't been everybody's favorite person over the last few months because of the way he's constantly carried Butch's bathwater.
No coach is going to get 100% fanbase approval. Surprisingly, the idea of bringing back Lane looks to have about 80% approval on Volnation.

There lies the reason why we are losing.
Kiffin back to Tennessee!

eh, it's no different than Swain hating on butch. i'm sure Ainge isn't alone, just like swain wasn't alone.

personally, i get why bringing Lane back would make sense. there is some baggage...there is some risk, i think that goes w/out saying.

but situationally speaking, Lane could provide a path out, while also providing a potential long term solution.

I'm still a Miles man and I hope we make it down to him.

However, Kiffin has stated publicly that he wished he had done things differently at UT about how he left. If he were brought back, I feel it would be long term so he could prove his point. then again, he's part garbage, so you never really know. I'm not all about offering him to come back. We just assume he would, so everyone says just bring him back. Nothing is concrete, except concrete. See Mullen, who was very vocal about how much they loved Starkville. He could be regretting this move someday as well. also, see Myer. Had no reason to leave FL except for not having to deal with FL. Dude had it made there.

Imagine how this looks from the bigger picture, the "fans" of this team are trashing a VFL in hopes that an average coach that took a hot steaming dump on the university will pay attention to them again.

There was even one guy in another thread throwing shade on General Neyland and his the Maxims since it was pointed out that Kiffin thumbed his nose at them while he was here. Pathetic and desperate is a bad look fellas.

Didn't he "throw his own name in the ring" for the job....Could just be the Green Monster coming out in him for not gaining any traction with his own pipe dream...

It's hilarious how so many are calling Ainge names, etc and questioning his maturity and all, yet kiss Haynesworth and Swain's ass when they act like teenage girls.

We are spending 340 mil on Neyland, we lost 11 mil by not making sugar bowl last yr. who cares about paying more for a coach. No to Lane, he is not and will never be loyal to UT.

well i'd be good with Miles or Kiffin at this point. but i have zero faith that we'll actually get a coach that actually makes sense.

Kiffin has said he'd come back, he has said he made a mistake. we probably won't even call. word is Miles reached out to a booster, THIS WEEK with interest....doubt he'll get a call back.

but we probably just ot Mike Gundy another raise, we probably won't even give Tee Martin a look.

i'm fully prepared to be :snoring: at the next hire we make.

I'm 76 years old and don't anybody that doesn't have some dirty laundry or skeletons in their closet.

Time to hire the best coach and, excluding criminal acts, quit being judgmental about people's private lives.

Tell it all brother, tell it all.

Guys I get that you feel strongly about Kiffin. But are you really going to bash a guy who actually played for our team and put his blood and sweat out there in the field? Yeah he’s made some mistakes, doesn’t means he’s not a VFL.

You’re also bashing him for being against the guy that screwed us over. Look I’m all for bringing Kiffin back if he’s changed, but don’t bash our own VFL for not being comfortable with it...

I don’t care what Ainge thinks. He threw some of the ugliest interceptions I’ve ever seen.

He would have been much better if Lane had been his coach.

when this 'search' began, I wanted no part of Kiffin but after seeing how bad UT can screw it up, HELL YES!

UT forgave Dickey and brought him back as AD and it only resulted in the greatest era of UT football in the last 50+ yrs. And Dickey's exit was just, if not more so, as ugly.

Load up the LaneTrain....

Logic and reason is no match for the mob mentality and delusions of grandeur.

This fan base will look back on this someday and shake their heads over the chubby they popped for an average coach with a mouth bigger than his resume.
