Aguilar debate

What do you think of the Aguilar situation?

  • I WANT HIM BACK HOWEVER WE CAN

  • I want him back, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth

  • I don't want him back because I think Gmac is the better option anyway

  • NO IT'S ABOUT THE PRINCIPLE

  • Don't care let's ride with whoever it ends up being

  • College sports is cooked

If Heupel supports taking him back who has seen the QB room and knows their performances, weaknesses, strengths, better than any of us here at VN, then who the %$#@ am I to deny him in his best professional opinion his best chance to win?

I love Joey, but nobody should be allowed to play more than 4 seasons of college football. I think JUCO years should count for everyone, including Joey. We shouldn't have 25-year-old grown ass men on the same field as 18-year-old kids. It's stupid.

For me it is pretty simple, I want him back because he gives us the best chance to win more games next year. With the new portal/NIL era roster fluidity, can we really be concerned further ahead than next year?

What does Heupel going after Leavitt and probably Simpson also and filing a brief with the court supporting Joey A coming back tell you about what he thinks of G-Mac and Faizon?
GMac isnt where he needs to be at a physical stand point. They couldnt get him to gain weight. According to some, he missed a few practices during the season by taking light contact still wearing a red jersey. Faizon got here and looks more physically developed than GMac. Thats why Heupel was going to the portal after a QB. GMac isnt ready because he gets hurt, and Heupel will never trust a true freshman to run his system. From what i have read and heard on the local radio, GMac has really good support around him and he has a good head on his shoulders and understands and still wants to be here. Hopefully this new strength staff and Nutrition coach can get him figured out.

We have made a lot of changes from our last year's squad and all of those will benefit this year's team. one more change would likely make our 2026 tram better and make for an interesting spring and fall practices. Let's go with what we have and complete the transition.

I was concerned looking at the pics from Miami around the CFP finals of G-Mac with some receivers. His leg development just looks puny and there's not a more polite way to describe it.

QBs having bird legs has been a thing for years but Josh likes to get his QBs down the field quite a bit. I'm not convinced G-Mac is ready for Heupel's offense.

I think he's a good kid from a solid TN family and doesn't want to leave but I would be concerned if I were him that Faizon will jump him by the end of this year.

If he does get jumped by the end of the year, he'd do well to look elsewhere, and sadly, perhaps to Vandy.

I don't care where he is from.
I care about putting the best athletes at the position on the field. If Joey wins his injunction, he is that guy.

THIS! Is it not 1997 and Peyton is making a decision to stay or go. We are in a time when very few QBs are going to wait their turn.
