Between the long hours of rehab, Sutton still attended every positional meeting and helped mentor the younger Tennessee players in a secondary that has fielded nine different starting lineups because of injury. He wore his helmet on the field with his crutches at games, hopping around to provide motivation and advice to teammates.

...Sutton's legacy will live on at Tennessee in the record books and in the teammates he’ll be leaving behind.

"He’s a great leader to this defense. He’s one of those guys who you look at when you’re a recruit and you’re like, ‘Man, he’s one hell of a player.’ You look at him as a role model,” Tennessee redshirt sophomore defensive back Rashaan Gaulden said. “But at the same time, once you play with him, you have higher standards to live by and you have to play up to his level. Just having him here and all that he’s done for us has definitely made an impact.”

A hell of a player and I have truly enjoyed his time at Tennessee. The epitome of a VFL. Will do great things in the NFL. You could see the disappointment on his face when he almost busted that punt against Missouri yesterday and got tackled by his shoestrings.

Probably the best pure football player on the team.

Only guy in his class of greatness is Alvin Kamara.

We're definitely gonna miss him. But I'm gonna enjoy watching him do great things in the NFL.

VFL = Cam Sutton

Brings up one of our biggest issues for several years running! In our past, when we was relevant, always in the discussion, We had a team full of guys with a heart like Cam! Whatever the key is to finding or building these guys, that is exactly what is needed to put us back where we belong!
