if you were having a bad night would you be all happy and cheerful...doubt it...he was peeved at his dismal performance...off night...it happens...and,
GO VOLS...RECRUIT LIKE HECK!
That last shot in regulation should absolutely have gone to admiral. Williams shot an obviously contested 3 when Admiral was unguarded. Maybe he would have missed, but even if he did you leave zeros on the clock. For some reason I feel he would have hit it.
Also, just a bad move by Grant to try to take over right there. Grant and Admiral are successful because of each other...feed your teammate. That’s probably the only mistake Grant made all night, so I guess you give him a pass on it. Also, no way we come out of that with a W without #2.
Admiral is one of my favorite players of all time. However, I am somewhat disappointed with his body language towards the end of the game last night. Two examples, 1) he gets taken out of the game and Fulkerson tries to give him "5" and Admiral disses Fulky and walks right past him 2) after Grants shot is blocked the end of regulation and Barnes starts chewing on Grant , Admiral basically stares down Grant with the look of " WTH were you doing".
I hope Admiral doesn't get away from the Team concept that has gotten us to this point and continues to be a leader on this team. The last thing we need is Admiral trying to impress NBA scouts and pouting when he has a bad game. I think Barnes won't let this happen and also think Admiral is too great of a person to let this happen. Hopefully he gets in the gym and gets his shot back because without him, we're Nowhere close to being the #1 team in the conference, much less the country! Let's go Admiral!
"It showed on his face" It also showed in his play....
I think he is disappointed in his play and is getting a bit frustrated. I think he will get it back and everyting will be back to normal. Barnes will handle it just fine It seems we had our usual bad shooting night when we play in that firetrap.Admiral is one of my favorite players of all time. Yes, basketball exposes the best players in the game to bad nights on occasion. He will be okay.Admiral had a bad night. It happens to all players, but he will be back. He has been beyond fantastic all year, and he will help us finish this thing. Grant was amazing, but it was a very big load to carry. He needs Admiral to step up. This team has to have Admiral step up.
This scare was probably good for us. Also, for this team to see they can win when Admiral is really off, and a team like Vandy is playing way beyond their ability, will do us good in the long run.
This team is special and it will continue to be a special TEAM.
Except Admiral wasn’t unguarded. He was very well guarded, in fact, by 6-10 Simi Shittu. That last shot in regulation should absolutely have gone to admiral. Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of that, either. Would have preferred our guys collectively decline those “opportunities”, although I understand the selfish desire to prove others wrong in their case. Not a good look in general, though. Let the main thing be the main thing; winning games. The short clip of him explaining why he was deserving of the Wooden award was a wee bit cringeworthy.
