Academic report from GVX....

The problem with you saying that all this is the players fault is how widespread it seems to be. If it were just a few then yes I would say those bad apples just aren't willing to hear the message. However with the degree in numbers being such an issue the one delivering the message is doing a very poor job.

Some people think Dooley can do no wrong

The VFL program is 2plus years old now. Academics were supposed to be apart of that program. It has failed miserably if you believe it to be aboutu more than on the field issues.

Again this does't make sense to me. If part of a system fails in one aspect then the whole system is a failure? Let the man try to fix it. If he doesn't then say he is blowing smoke. To do it now is silly in my opinion.

Dooley cant make sure all 85 of his players are studying and are well prepared for their exams. There has to be some self motivation.

Um, let's see...he's going into year three. He had been head coach for 23 months around the time the academic grades were out. He's had a decent amount of time.

Very true but explain the mass numbers that are having trouble with motivation.

Im sure there are a lot of variables we don't know about. Players like Tiny Richardson and Devrin Young are doing great in the classroom. To say the fall season didn't take an emotional toll on the players would be an understatement.

We are talking about 30 kids. Not 10.

Roughly 40% of our scholarship guys are at issue here. Like I said a few of those are just bad apples that no coach could reach I am sure, but its the rest of the players at risk that are very damning for DD.

Dude, ive tried to be objective in my argument. I acknowledge this is partly on Dooley, but you obviously live in an overly simplistic, unrealistic world if the BS that you posted above is what you truly think.

What kind of situation did he arrive in? What kind of pressure is there to win immediately? The deck was stacked against him from day 1. He has fixed part of our talent issues (although we are still not there) and he has dealt with a ton of turnover within his staff and department.

He's supposed to have all this locked down in 23 months? Give me a break. Name another person who has done that with the hand he was dealt?

He didn't know about the 30 kids struggling in the fall when it was happening. He knows now and the grades are apparently better than ever.

Hundreds of thousands of university dollars are spent on hiring a support staff to make sure he knows they are struggling. If he didn't know all the support staff should be fired.

Their grades could have dropped badly because of bad final grade scores, some teachers don't even focus on grades until the very end of the semester. We really don't know what happened.

Let's see. In the 23 months he took over, football academics are worse than they previously were...that says something.
