Fan is short for fanatic. Are fans serious when they paint themselves or a rock? In a way they are, but in another way they really aren't because they're having fun. College football means different things to different people. It's a great American sport, and it's supposed to be fun for fans. What's wrong with that? And what's wrong with Sabanoccio or Jmo developing skills and networks, doing things they love to do...doing things that other people value? Hey, if they can make a place for themselves and turn it into a living, I say more power to them.
What's wrong is there is a line you shouldn't cross, and Sab crossed it. It's stalking. There is no other way around it. Media doesn't go around trying to be best friends with every 17 year old recruit they talk to. And they certainly don't write love letters to recruits.
