Abortions and the bible.

This is wrong. You and Mick must have shared a room last night. You are now legislating your religious beliefs so this is where we part company.
Where have I said anything about religion? I want a national ban on abortions, I am realistic enough to know that will never happen so I am good for states to take this up.

your first point is too small to be significant, the second is valid but has no effect on you unless it was your parent, the third is factually incorrect. How do you know someone is going to be fat at birth?

You don't know that. I meant living fat asses who cost us a fortune every year. That statement was in jest, by the way.

Not true at all. Aside from the cost and burden to the medical/insurance industry, they pass their genes and habits onto their innocent kids.
So if I choose to be obese then I change genetically? What if I am in perfect condition when my kids are born but gain weight later, do they somehow get a genetic change from skin to skin contact? Please explain this little rant?

You show me data where MTV's Teen Mom shows had any affect on abortions. You can't. There are a lot more abortions now because there are more people and children start becoming sexually active at younger ages.

Stop making stuff up just because you are mad.
Stop making stuff up because you have no experience with the time period you are trying to talk about. You really shouldn't be in this argument. The abortion rate is exponentially higher now than when I was in HS in the late 70's and not because there are more people. That is a stupid and short sighted statement on the subject.

If it is not a religious compulsion for you, why do you want to stop all abortions? If you and your partner are not having one I cannot see how abortion should bother you.

Your basis is well known, I didn't start reading your posts last night. Calling everyone that needs or gets an abortion a whore is very Micklike. I have known girls that had abortions and they are close to me. You calling them whores would get you sideways with me in person.

No, there wasn't. Teen pregnancy USED to be a stigma. When your party made it a badge of honor via MTV and other bull **** programs, the abortion rate went through the roof. USED to be there were a very small number of pregnancies in HS, now it is rampant. Stop guessing and do your homework. You are simply proving that every 21 year old that gets on the internet doesn't know everything.....in fact they don't know much if you are the example.

Now start with the name calling and insults since that is all you have.
In 1974 I was in 8th grade and there were three girls in my homeroom (out of about 15) that got pregnant during the school year. (There were also two school shootings)

I was in high school in the late 70's, too, idiot.

Not true. Teenage sex activity rate is down.

Environment is why kids with no obesity gene get fat. They do what they are taught.

The problem is to get to that point you had to be one. Everything in your future is potential. Should I be able to kill you because your future is only potential?

To kill me or any other non-vegetative, viable human would almost certainly involve inflicting some degree of misery. Abortion during the first trimester surely causes less suffering to an embryo than would be experienced by a deer struck by an arrow. The hardship avoided for parents in cases of unwanted children outweighs the pain, if it exists at all, of the fetus. I understand, though, how these considerations wouldn't enter into your calculus if you don't view morality through the lens of avoiding suffering.

As to the question of potential, if you could kill me painlessly without my suspicion of your intentions, and assuming I have no one to mourn my passing and you commit the perfect crime so that no one is terrified of such a fate befalling him, you have succeeded in merely snuffing out potential. This is an interesting thought experiment but I cannot account for its place in the context of this particular political debate.

No it's not.

All you have to do is google this ****, guys. It's not that difficult. Do your homework, you hypocrite.

There was a total of about 3 pregnancies in our class the entire time I went to school. My sister teaches in the same school now. At any given time in a given class there are probably 8 to 10. School size is maybe 20% larger. I don't know what to say if you guys were getting knocked up at that rate in the 8th grade. I am just taking a microcosm of where I went to school in a then and now comparison. My experience and opinion is that teen pregnancy exploded at nearly the same time as Roe v. Wade made it legal and therefore more accessible. The stigma to teen pregnancy went away also.

Of course you do. Again, why be worried about abortion if you are not worried about the sin aspect of it?

I value innocent life regardless of religion. I'm not a religious person, a believer but I don't attend church or belong to any organized religious group. I also oppose the death penalty.

I don't think men should have any vote in this issue, its a female issue. At the same time, I don't think it should be legal for a doctor to snip, crush or whatever they do to abort a fetus, doctors should always save lives. I am pro choice but it should not be so easy on the chooser. Let the mother be more involved in the process and the number of abortions would drop in a meaningful amount, kind of like cutting umbilical cord. The government should also offer a viable alternative through adoption, there are so many people looking to adopt it would pay for itself.

Even though we disagree on abortions, I sincerely appreciate your views, Hog.

Every now and then I really like you. It usually passes quickly.

So you are female? I for one didn't know that.

What raw data? Refusing to answer shows nothing like you continue to claim
Haha. Do you really think that gives you an out? really?

Let's take the 2019 data that is posted prior and remove the ones who did not answer.

It leaves the total at 4,832. Of that 4,832
83.4% is due to social or economic reason
6.3% is due to emotional or psychological health
5.3% due to the health of the mother
0.9% due to life endangering physical condition
3.5% due to genetic defect
0.1% due to incest
0.5% due to rape.

You can do the math yourself if you want. I have it right in front of me in excel.

No matter what the numbers are, you'll dismiss them because they dont fit what you want to believe. You dont want proof that most abortions are done as birth control rather than need. You don't want the day to come where you have to admit that you are on the wrong side of history. That YOU have advocated for an inhumane procedure to terminate another life. No. You would rather stick your head in the sand or close your eyes to avoid the inevitable realization that you have endorsed an immoral policy that is taken advantage of by immoral people who have devalued a human life based on convenience or irresponsibility.
