Aaron Douglas Officially Gone

and all the dooley haters shut up after reading the espn article. his father even said it's not coach's fault.

Bleeds orange? Knowing how thin we are on O line? Not the man your dad is!

When your blood is full of chemicals from perscription pills, it doesn't matter how orange it is (I'm not a doctor. Don't know if chemicals get into your blood, it was just a clever way to turn a phrase). Things need to fundamentally change in his life, and I think he will be better for this.

Its amazing how quick we are to jump down DD throat. I think it has something to do with how he got here, his kinda odd public persona, and not letting fans get to know the coaches better. We cant really say if he played much of a role in these 2 players leaving. It looks to me that there were a lot of issues with these two that had nothing to do with DD. We will not know for 9 months if he is a lousy coach. I hope not.

you are probably right. i might become one too but i have the decency to, at least, wait til he actually loses a football game.

Just one? Pretty short leash. I am thinking that we are going to have a .500 season at best, so you might as well start hatin'

I wouldnt say i loved the dooley hire (although I will admit it is through ignorance of who HE is). I originally said when the festering dog tick was hired, it would be 3 or 4 years before we were sec caliber, after dooley was hired I said 6 to 7 years, I hope i am wrong but dont think this will be a good decade

Im not really trying to bash Maryville, Im curious as to why several players from there have had problems at UT recently. Since Maryville is a bright spot in producing good ball players in Tennessee(which is not a great hs football state). This seems a reasonable question.

It is certainly the case that good football players in blount county get treated very well when in High School. In some instances this can lead to a lack of discipline, and a sense of entitlement. Not all the time, but some. This is probably the case with most top tier football players across the nation, but the difference is that the blount county players stay in their "circle of supporters" by going to UT which is so close to home, whereas good football players that may have been given special treatment in Florida or something are obviously not going to be surrounded by people who have been following them since pee wee's if they come to UT.... There is added pressure and more distractions b/c you are familiar with the area, don't really suffer from the adjustment to college life as much as someone from out of state and so forth... just my 2 cents.

I'm no psychologist, but this seems reasonable.

this makes a lot of sense to me. its easy to forget how young these guys are.

your right, cause it's all HIS fault we lost aaron douglas.

all i was stating is how absurd it is to criticize the man when we havent even seen the team he will field. i dont expect even .500 to be quite honest. if we go 7-5 id be elated.

very good assessment of what could be going on with these kids

Douglas' dad must be lying... those really in the know here have assured us it is Dooley's fault.

evidently something is not right, because if he loves Tennessee sooo much and and it's not Dooley's fault then why else would he want to transfer...

Very disappointing that he couldn't get his act together and get his tail back on the field, but you can't make him stay

Best of luck to Aaron...

We've lost two potential top 10 picks in two weeks. That's not a good thing no matter how you spin it. With a offensive line with only one guy who's played meaningful snaps I'd say its a miracle if we go over .500

If this program is not relevant in 3 years I hope Dooley is removed immediately and Mike Hamilton is sent to the unemployment line. I really feel we are about to be as relevant as Kentucky. This sucks!

so one guy on the offensive line is going to help us go better than 500?

I'm not disagreeing that it is a big loss, but come on
