Paul Bain is deciding to forgo his sophomore and junior season to enter the NFL draft. He tells the teams when to pick him, he doesn't take no for an answer. They made the 1st pick in the draft because he said so.
Thanks, man. Once I noticed all the craziness about him, I instantly hoped and still hope he would somehow manage to train himself into the a great player. Just so all the jokers jaws hit the concrete. Glad he is still a Vol.
Montanatenn, you reminded me of one of the many great lines from Jeremiah Johnson: "Some say you're dead on account of this. Some say you never will be... on account of this." By the way, have you gotten any significant snow up there yet during this wacky winter?
Perhaps my favorite quotes from that movie were the following by Del Gue, who really captured the essence of the Rockies when he stated:
"I ain't never seen 'em, but my common sense tells me the Andes is foothills, and the Alps is for children to climb! Keep good care of your hair! These here is God's finest sculpturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here! And there ain't no priests excepting the birds. By God, I are a mountain man, and I'll live 'til an arrow or a bullet finds me. And then I'll leave my bones on this great map of the magnificent... "
And . . .
"Ain't this somethin'? I told my pap and mam I was coming to mountains to trap and be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Says "Son, make your life go here, here's where the peoples is. Them mountains is for animals and savages." I says, "Mother Gue, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world", and by God, I was right."
Yes Del, You were.
Went to see "The Revenant" yesterday. Awesome show.
That is, for me, the one must-see movie of the year. I realize that they filmed most of the movie in the Canadian Rockies and I fully understand the allure of doing so. However, without revealing too much of the plot, did they formally identify the protagonist as Hugh Glass and did they bother to point out that he was actually mauled by a plains grizzly in present-day South Dakota, rather than the Rockies?
Did you like it as much as Jeremiah Johnson?
