I hate to tell you, but passion, integrity, and a will to win don't put dinner on the table. Gruden's career win percentage (54%) speaks for itself; he wasn't getting it done at the pro level, and I doubt it would magically happen here. Speaking anecdotally, there are very few NFL-primary coaches that I can think of as surviving on the college level.
Grudenites and Doolanders both seem to have a flair for eschewing the objective/quantitative for the sake of the subjective/qualitative. If you want to confuse one or the other (or both) of the entrenched [coach]-ites, just quote facts and numbers and watch how fast the invectives begin to fly.
