A good handgun

I was looking at the Taurus PT92 for a while, but decided i would prefer the CZ 75b. that's my choice for 9mm as of right now unless someone shows me something better.

I think the CZ is a good one. Probably run you $50 or so more than the Taurus. Not worth considering the difference. Warranty on the CZ is five year limited. Warranty on the Taurus is lifetime. FYI.

hmm good point about the warranty. i didn't notice that. My friend said i should look more at the S&W M&P since it's an American made gun or whatever, but i haven't read one bad thing about the CZ yet.

My personal CC is a Springfield XD40sc with a crossbreed IWB holster. Great shooting. Easy to conceal. When you pick out the one you want print out the price from Budsguns.com. Take that price to your local dealer and they will usually try to match it. If not just order it from buds and have it shipped to your local FFL. Usually most FFL's will do the transfer for around $15 - $25.

S&W has made some good guns and bad guns. I have a 5906 that's about 20 years old that can't be beaten. But, have seen some that were crap. You just need to Google around and find some gun forums discussing pros and cons of the ones you're considering. If you've decide on the 9mm, that's not a bad choice. Read about the differences in 9mm and .357 sig ammo. Might be another thing to consider.

GunBroker.com mobile

Indi - check out gunbroker if you're on a budget once you know what you want. Here's a sig 9mm under $400 for example. It's swiss made but this gun specifically isn't the reason i'd recommend the site. I've bought 2 guns from there with no issues. All you need is an FFL in your area. Most pawn shops are FFL's and for 30 will take possession for you.

Glock 27 with a Crossbreed. Only holster to have imo.

be a man, buy sig

Sigs cost a lot more, especially the ones I'm wanting. Elite or maybe SAS G2, though mine would be a .40 as I'm already set up to handload for that. (then again I'm pretty sure a .40 can be made into a .357 Sig with only a barrel swap)

They had a sig on gunbroker that came with both barrels not an elite though but appears you'd be right. Looks like clips take either also.

Makes sense since the cases are the same. A .357 Sig is really just a .40 S&W necked down to 9mm.

i will definitely check out that site when i get closer to figuring out what i want, DD. I have looked a lot at that site and Bud's.

In other news, i went out with a friend today and he let me shoot his Browning High Power (i think that's what he called it). I liked it a lot. he said the CZ 75 i have been looking at is modeled as a copy of it. I shot a .22 rifle as well. I feel like I will get bored with a .22..... that, and the 9mm was awesome! lol

While there are similarities the 75 really isn't any kind of "clone" of the BHP. One very big difference is that the BHP is "Single Action Only".* This means that the pistol must be cocked before you can fire. Like the 1911 that's no big deal for general shooting but if you're going to carry it and be "ready to fire" that means carrying "cocked and locked" (aka Condition One) with hammer back and safety engaged. Some people are uncomfortable with that. The 75 "can" be carried in Condition 1 with it's thumb safety but also gives you the "Double Action" ability to leave the hammer down and simply squeeze the trigger to fire.

I hope I haven't just confused you more than helped? :)

*There are different variants of both pistols, including a DA HP and a DAO 75 but the overwhelming majority of examples out there fit the above description.
