That anyone pays attention to this show confounds me.
Agreed. Forcing opinions/beliefs on one another simply does not work. We need civil discourse, applying more logic and less emotion.
I'm a big believer in empathy, and think we'd all get along much better if we worked to foster it in our lives.
Really good thread and great contributions by a lot of different viewpoints. Nice read this morning fellas.
And to gcbvol specifically, your honesty and input regarding this is commendable. Well done.
What I am sick of are the vicious attacks by the militant homosexual groups against people's God given right to free speech.
The gay agenda must be stopped. I say this from a political as well as religious position.
The best post I've seen on FB was when someone said "Put a bible thumping Southern man on tv, and expect him not to voice his opinon? What did you expect?"
They (A&E) either chose to ignore the possibility of something like this happening down the road, or have done a good job editing. What that cant control is outside interviews when the muzzle is off.
Don't disagree with anything you listed. My point is not about the 'acting out', it is simply that sexuality is innate. Just as skin color and gender are innate.
I think this is important because if more people would consider this point I think they'd be much more understanding than they are today. It's really easy and a cop out to just say "those gays choose that sinful, deviant behavior", as if it's just a matter of flipping a switch. It isn't that simple.
I'm not advocating that everyone accept homosexuality, but we could all do a better job with empathy.
