1. That was old testament law. Christians today generally look to the new testament for commandments, obviously keeping in mind the old law has many good lessons as well.
2. Punishments were harsh then. I seriously doubt half of the children of todays society would survive to age 10 under old testament law.

Right on. The decision in North Carolina has made me question my belief in God. Not because I'm gay, but because one of my best friends and his partner will be directly affected by this. Surely, God would not let law abiding, tax paying fathers suffer under the heavy hand of legislation by his own word, right?

I'm sorry but that was adopted in 1956. I think one nation under god was added in like 1952. I would hardly call that an act of the founders.

Marcus, if the civil rights of the 1960's were put up as a public referendum how do you think that would have gone, particularly in the south? The "majority" who vote on things are not necessarily right.

My belief in God is not in question. I'm agnostic.

His "hand" has nothing to do with this, IMO. This is bigotry. There is no other definition.

God said marriage was 1 man 1 woman. Wake up. If legislation that supports His word makes you question your belief in Him there is a logic problem somewhere. God doesn't change what's wrong and right to suit your buddies. They change their lives to suit Him. He is God, unchanging for eternity. They are humans whose purpose in life, every mans purpose; is to glorify God. Some learn this Truth and accept it. Other do not and burn. It really is that simple.

Flat tax for everyone. I think you've espoused that philosophy before. I might be wrong. Do you think that there are organizations/civilians that are worthy of tax exempt status?
