I was walking out of Horseshoe last Saturday night and a Craps dealer gives me a big "War Eagle"! I turned around and gave him a big grin asked him how recruiting was going. The look on his face was priceless.

Great job Barry, I still think that A-Rod is gonna catch you though. So enjoy these next 7 years or so...

It's a fan base that instead of greeting each other with "How ya doin'?" instead says "Wahreegle".

Terry Bowden told someone in an interview that while hosting the weekly call in show during his days at Auburn, at least once every 15 minutes he would say the words "War Eagle Bobby Dan, War Eagle"

hilarious

I personal think Bonds had the record- roids or not. He's an outstanding hitter- and no amount of enhancers can improve hand-eye coordination. It's a shame his record will be marred by the controversy though. I t seems like everyone "wants" to be happy for him- but can't.

Here's to A-Rod bringing honor back to baseball in a few years.

Howard would probably be a better bet than Pujols... AP doesn't hit enough HRs. He'd have to play about the same amount of years that Aaron did to get close to it.

Howard on the other hand has already came close to 60 HRs and is on pace for 50+ again this year. If he can stay healthy...

Howard probably didn't get an early enough start. He's already 27 and doesn't even have 150 yet. Pujols has a better shot, since he came up early enough that he'll be almost to 300 by the end of this year. Rodriguez is far and away the most likely active player to catch Bonds -- I'd give him a better than 50/50 shot at it.

Oh, and all you need to know about Barry Bonds the team player is this: after hitting his big home run, he left the game and watched his teammates lose yet again. You'd think he could have bothered to finish out a close game, wouldn't you?

Why? They stink and the game was meaningless.

Cue Herman Edwards. Bonds hitting a ball over a wall 756 times is only meaningful in the context of trying to win baseball games. And for several years, Bonds has treated his teams' games as though they are only important as a vehicle for getting himself at-bats.

The Giants have 0 chance of winning anything this year. The only thing that motivates the fans and franchise was Barrys record. He deserves to take a couple of days off after what he did. I would say 756 homers and around 580 with the Giants is worthy of taking a half game off.

Cripes, I didn't realize Howard was already 27. If he played until he was 43ish, he'd have to average 45 HR a year just to get over the 700 mark. I doubt he'll be doing that.
