Sure there are. Start information sharing from the Federal level on down. If this man popped up on the FBI's radar a couple of years ago, that information should have been shared down to the State and local level.
San Bernardino information should have been shared.
The Boston Marathon info should have been shared.
Stop the nonsense that profiling individuals based on their suspected links with terrorism is a bad thing. Or worse, "anti-Islamic." Perhaps this wouldn't have been prevented, but at least someone has their eye on said individual.
I'm not trying to make this an attack on police. But, police don't keep us secure. They arrest or kill criminals. The Governor down there is referring every other question to law enforcement like law enforcement is the answer. Law enforcement isn't the answer. Disarming the citizenry isn't the answer.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump responded Sunday to the mass shooting early Sunday at a Florida nightclub in which dozens were killed or wounded.
"Horrific incident in FL. Praying for all the victims & their families. When will this stop? When will we get tough, smart & vigilant?" tweeted Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee, posted on her Twitter feed: Woke up to hear the devastating news from FL. As we wait for more information, my thoughts are with those affected by this horrific act. -- H"
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vt., tweeted: Its horrific. Its unthinkable.
Initial reactions from the Presidential candidates:

Here's the trade-off I advocate. If one is placed on some watch list and is a citizen they cannot be deprived of due process which means they must be aware of their presence on said list; at least when such presence prevents something (firearm purchase, security clearance, etc.)
I realize that hampers investigation but if the government assumes me guilty of something to the extent it hampers my freedom I must be made aware so I can challenge the designation.
Where is the info about the fbi's notes on this guy?
which part?
the sharing of info between agencies?
FBI already investigates people and puts them on watch lists - I'm advocating a mechanism for someone to know if they are on such lists.
