11th is basically where we have been for 20 years. We have 11 3 stars and 16 total. Not sure where you are getting your numbers. We have won more with Heupel but aren’t really recruiting any better than the 3 jokers before him. We have to if we are going to compete for championships. We will not compete for them if we don’t. To top it off, we had the worst transfer class in the power conferences. We have 25 commits so far, 8 are 3 star. And are still in on some 5 stars. We have the 11th ranked class right now. We're where we need to be. We aren't going to recruit like Texas, UGA, Bama until we prove we can take the next step and win on the road.

20 of the NFL's best 40 players weren't top recruits out of high school
Brock Purdy has become the poster child as the NFL's ultimate unsung star since rising from Mr. Irrelevant to Pro Bowl quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers.www.si.com
Idk how I can get this through to the “we signed a 3 star so stars don’t matter” crowd, but I will try. There are like 32 5 stars per year and a few hundred four stars. There are thousands of 3 and 2 stars. Your odds of finding the next Travis Kelce are much higher with a 5 star than they are with 2 and 3 stars. I mean just look at who wins the championships every year. Their rosters aren’t built on the idea that they can find All Pros with 2 star recruits, even if a very small percentage of 2 and 3 stars do end up hitting it big. For every Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, you have a few thousand guys who can’t play dead. The odds that a 3 star does nothing are astronomically higher than the odds are that he becomes a very good player.
