For those of us who stayed 'til the end of the 4th quarter, it was a bit if a letdown after the way we steamrolled the Hawkeyes earlier (sorry, but it was). Don't know the cause, but still very happy for the great win.

The cause was we were up 42-7 at one point and it wasn't worth risking anyone for the sake of a few blowhards on VN.

It's only too early if you lose, fall behind, or if the other team even has a slim chance at the end...That did not happen here.

UT could have gone into victory formation for the final qtr and it probably wouldn't have mattered.

I understand what your saying. I would have been fine with putting the 2nd string in at the beginning of the 4th quarter or possibly even sooner. I am extremely happy with the with the win. I also understand not wanting to take unecessary risks with the players. I would not have wanted to see them run up the score but it would have been nice to see them do something.

I can respect not wanting to humiliate an opponent, but its bone dumb not to try to maintain possession. To do that, you've got to make first downs. Those last series in the 4th quarter didn't show any desire to move the ball. Those three and outs can come back to bite you in the butt. Pittsburgh found that out the hard way today.

This really has gotta be one of the worse, I dont think I ever complained about someones opinons but come on.
We lost to Vandy last year and now we want or really expect our team to crush another opponet in a bowl game, never mind Ainge was the last QB to win a bowl game.

Gonna chalk the whole 4th quarter up to Butch trying to show respect to the opposing team by not running up the score. Class is a rare commodity in college football these days (looking at you Florida State).

I would say the fans are happy and got their money's worth...now what part of "we have the game won but if we go crazy calling crazy stuff we might turn the ball over and do another Pittsburg thing" do you not understand? Oh yeah you 13 wayward souls that "liked" this are as strange as this person.

Absolutely no point in running up the score today. Iowa played with class, we showed class in return.

By my observation, our Vols played an awesome game! The 4th quarter lineups on defense and offence were very different than the first three. Many players got snaps that would have never been in the game, had the score been closer. My advice to you 1truevol would be to pay closer attention to the game and who's actually playing. :D
