45-10 Win

If I knew all these answers, I would be making 3 mil a year walking the sidelines

Recruiting is only going to pay dividends if that talent is being coached up

We are just as young an inexperienced on the D line and those guys are playing lights out

Why isn't that being reflected in the oline?

Defensive Front 7's are generally stronger and faster....otherwise you would never see a sack or TFL....and the scores would be bball scores....which it appears they are becoming....that is why size, strength and technique are so important for O linemen. It takes a little time to coach and mentor an O line to operate as a unit.

I too think they should be getting a little better by now, but there is a striking difference between an 18 YO boy and a 21 YO man when it comes to decision making, strength, bone density, etc. No excuse for the older guys except maybe the strength conditioning prior to the current regime.

A win is a win you think the other sec teams care when they win over a cupcake? I just want 6 wins!⚡️

I don't share your enthusiasm for the immediate future. We really are at a point where we may only be able to beat Vandy for the rest of the year. If 4-8 is OK with you then continue to love the program thru the Orange colored glasses. After many poor years, a worse record this year is more than just a down year.

This is really getting freaking old! What I don't understand is that when anyone questions, or criticizes the oline (which sucks beyond belief) it turns into something about Jones being fired. I haven't read a single thread where someone has suggested that he be fired, be held accountable? Yes.

Here is the thing. This is game six, our oline should be progressing in a positive way. Clearly after that putrid performance today and last week, they are not. In fact it looks like they are regressing. They made Chatt. look like an SEC defense today.

I don't know what the answer is, but its clear as day that whatever they are doing is not working. And yes, I know they are young, inexperienced and all the other excuses. Its BS. They should be getting better. They are not!

Only person being called to be fired is Mahoney that I've seen. I've seen some crazier ones call for Bajakian after last week. But I think most realized Florida's D is just that good and had two weeks to scheme against an already struggling oline.

This is by far the most pessimistic I've ever seen this forum after a win. They won 45-10 and you'd think it went the opposite way. Look, the offensive line sucks. I get it. That's an issue you're going to have with so many young players. Give them some time and they'll gain the experience they need to be decent. Add in a good QB (Dormady?) and this team will be good in a few years with the way the staff is recruiting. Speaking of them, Tennessee absolutely does not need to fire anyone for quite a few years, unless recruiting obviously starts to fall. The program cannot handle anymore turnover and attrition. So let's all just chill out and watch our young team develop. Go Vols!

Finally a true vol fan! Thank you so sick of all the freakin negavols on here. Go vols

Last year they said Jancek should be fired and the dline coach was a has been. After six starts the oline coach isnt coaching them up. Its so simple on the couch. Pay me fool!

For every other fan base a win against any opponent would be cause to cheer. But not VN. No for some of our fan base a win is still not enough to stop the moaning and whining.

I'm not the one calling for Mahoney's head. I was just saying that people have been calling for his head. :good!:

Woo-hoo!!!! We beat an FCS school!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know how many sacks we gave up today? How many rushing yards we had? How about last week? Do you think any of that is an indication of how good or bad we are? How about our O-line? Did you see any progression from those guys today? Do you think our play the past couple of weeks is any indication of how we will play next week? Wait we won! None of this should be of any concern and no one should talk about it. We won!

Not saying anything of the sort. All I am saying is a win is a win. And that is reason to be a little happy. If you cannot find joy in UT winning a football game then you must be a pretty sad character.

Are there problems? Sure. Do we need to improve? Absolutely. Actually past performances have no bearing on how we will lay next week. I realize the problems but I am going to consider this win a reason to be happy. Feel free to stay in Debbie Downerville though.

Dude, this is a discussion forum. Do I really need to go there? And yes, past performances do have a bearing, actually its the bench mark for every position coach to evaluate their players. Its called grading. Its used to evaluate progression and an indicator of regression.

So what? If a player has a bad week or multiple bad weeks, then their grade would be low right? I get that. But do those low grades mean that player is going to continue to play bad? No it doesn't. Players can improve. It happens all of the time. I guess I was wrong a little, past performance mean something for grading purposes only. However they are by no means indicative of how a player is going to play week to week.

I really cannot believe I had to explain that to you.

your right and us fans tend to forget that it is a major rebuild job for CBJ and company, they are showing some flashes of how good they can be

of course there are flashes of the pain that it is going to take to get the Vols back to where they need to be

it was a 5 to 6 year rebuild when CBJ arrived here and it is still has years to go,the Vol fans are a hostile, bunch, but i assume CBJ knew that before he came here
