It was really cool for the '82 Bama game. That was near the end of the fair. Great times.

The Worlds Fair was a blast, had a season pass and went almost every evening if it wasn't raining. Drank lots of beer, toured the exhibitions and picked up some hot women, watched the Steelers and Patriots exhibition game that year as well...good times good times.

i went with the whole 7th grade on our field trip.i really thought it sucked ,but it could have been the fact we had to check in every hour or so plus the regular Tennessee valley fair was much more fun when we went to it.

I was 3, just outside of Nashville but I had no idea what the "gold ball" was all about until I was about 18...on campus.

I was there, did surveying to lay out the fair site, Vols beat Bama for first time in several years, we celebrated, had to bail Norman out of jail. Good times, good times ...

I was at the fair the day we beat Alabama (I didn't go to many games back then, for some reason). I knew something big was happening, hearing the crowd going nuts in Neyland. From the top of the Ferris Wheel, you could just about see down into the stadium, but not quite. That was indeed a cool day - I wish we still had that kind of fall weather.

Don’t forget the combination plate which included these and an egg role and fried rice for a $1.10….it was a fun place….2 floors, live music upstairs, pin ball down….and cheap beer

Talk about bringing back memories... I was 12 with a season pass - the rides weren't great but I had a blast at most of the different country pavilions. Plus great wurst at the beer haus under the bridge.

Wasn't there an old Mexican restaurant down in that area back during that time...maybe around Western & Grand? I just remember the smell of that place...very old school.

I was living in Neyland Hill Apts overlooking the Fair at the time.

HUGE Fireworks show out my window over the river every night.

Was going to make LOTS of money subletting my place..... Didn't work out.

LOL…yes I can’t recall the name…I only ate there maybe 100 times….very old school but unique for Knoxville at the time….not a chain, cinder block building, shut down a while because of a fire….great food…

Hate to admit it, but I was 11, living in Orlando, and had not yet fallen for the Vols.

Edit: was never a Florida fan, though
