Kind agree , we have to get this hire right, not sure hiring the next coach within the system will work either . Go out find one , spend some money . Don’t be cheep. Not not be a popular opinion, but I would take will wade … to start with . Be. A candidateAnd I’m not sure I have much faith in Danny White’s hiring ability.
Tennessee does deserve a F4. But we’re going to have to go take it. Some players on this team seem to have upped their game this March. Carey and Felix most notably. Even Burg, as a defender and operator of the offense is giving us more than he did during the regular season. Jakobi, in spite of poor outside shooting and TOs last night, has upped his game in the NCAAT.I know UCLA (4x), UK (3x) UNC (3x), Kansas (2x), Duke (2x), and Florida have done it. That's 15, so it's probably been done by a few others, too, that I'm not thinking of, but it is obviously extremely rare, and probably less than 20. And each of those schools have a title. Tennessee deserves a F4. I don't believe we beat Michigan on short rest, but nothing this bunch does will surprise me at this point. They have come to play in this tournament.
So, does this cement our" Blue Blood" status now?Current programs with at least one streak of 3 straight Elite Eights

Uhhh, no thanks. You don’t go from Rick Barnes to Will Wade.Kind agree , we have to get this hire right, not sure hiring the next coach within the system will work either . Ament’s last foul was simply a box out. Unbelievably poor call.Tennessee does deserve a F4. But we’re going to have to go take it. Some players on this team seem to have upped their game this March. Nate looked like good/healthy Nate last night. If the referees hadn’t made an incredible effort to take him out of the game, he might’ve had 30. He was amazing and they were absolutely ridiculous in what they did to him. Three of his four fouls were absolutely bogus. I’m still mad about it even though we won.
Maybe Michigan will have an off game. Maybe they got their hot shooting out of their system against Alabama. JaKobi should bounce back from an off shooting night. Same for JP. We need a lot of breaks tomorrow night. But we’re due for that as a program in an E8 game. I’m not betting that we win. But I’m not betting against it either.

That is indicative of our typical bad luck.Just heard a wild stat from a caller on Basilio's postgame. In these 3 straight E8s, we have faced chalk in every single round. We have not benefitted one time from upsets in our bracket, always facing the highest seed possible. That is wild to see that in 3 straight NCAATs spanning 12 games.
Some of those teams reaching the elite 8 are misleading...there were origianally only 8 teams in the NCAA tourney..then 16 until it was expanded to it's present format of 64 in 85'. So Duke, Florida,UNLV,Kansas, Mich,Kentucky ,UCLA and Mich St are the only teams to duplicate 3 straight apperances in the Elite 8 in the present day format.Current programs with at least one streak of 3 straight Elite Eights

I would say it was certainly a weak call. Easily could have been a no call. But the whistle was because he used his arm to sorta hook around the players shoulder area and impeded his advancement towards the basketball. But that type of play happens many times during a game without a whistle.Ament’s last foul was simply a box out. Unbelievably poor call.
