Maybe because rivals and 247 both say he has huge upside including 247 comparing him to Ebron who just got drafted in 1st rd. He is just moved to TE this summer and is getting all his offers. Once he gets TE game film his bump will come. Barton Simmons has said he will be bumped once the game film backs up the camp tour. We aren't making these things up like you are
If you dont like the kids who commit, then stop following recruiting. Plain and simple. Looking only at the stars and ignoring the reports on them and ignoring their offer lists is looking at only part of a larger picture. Theres a bunch of highly rated guys who will lose their ranking. Also the closer to signing day we get, the more 4 and 5*s will be given out.
How do you get through the day or sleep at night or deal with the anxiety knowing that we got 5 commits in two or three days and only one of them is a clean 4* star sweep. That doesn't sit we'll with me for the moment. If they get a bump then everything changes, but until then, what do we do?
Here is 4 of our toughest opponents this season. We all know Bama's classes are unfair. The other teams arent even close to these guys.
Oklahoma's Signing Class 2011 - 2014 (4 classes)
5* - 4
4* - 32
3* - 50
2* - 7
Unranked - 1
Florida's Signing Class 2011 - 2014 (4 classes)
5* - 6
4* - 47
3* - 39
2* - 2
Georgia's Signing Class 2011 - 2014
5* - 5
4* - 46
3* - 45
2* - 3
South Carolina Signing Class 2011 - 2014
5* - 1
4* - 32
3* - 66
2* - 2
Oklahoma and South Carolina sign way more 3*s than they do any other, and are the highest ranked of those 4 schools
I don't understand how you could look at Austin Smith's film, measurables, and offer list and not be excited. The same goes for Kyle Oliver and Picou.
I understand that you can't have all 4 and 5s, I would just like it if that were the case and I thought Butch could pull it off after that legacy class last year. I convicted by friend who is a CU Buff fan to get text alerts for Vol commits and he says this... "Looks like another 3 star for UT, CU would beat UT". Good information from you though.
If I had to predict how our guys will finish in the rankings I would say....
Preston Williams - 6.1 5*
Alvin Kamara - 6.0 4*
Jack Jones - 5.9 4*
Quinten Dormady - 5.9 4* (maybe 5.8)
Cecil Cherry - 5.8 4*
Jauan Jennings - 5.8 4*
Andrew Butcher - 5.8 4*
Zach Stewart - 5.8 4*
Stephen Griffin - 5.8 4*
Quay Picou - 5.8 4*
Rocky Reid - 5.8 4*
Austin Smith - 5.8 4*
Dylan Jackson - 5.7 3*
Kyle Oliver - 5.7 3* (maybe 5.8 4*)
Jocquez Bruce - 5.6 3*
Jaylond Woods - 5.6 3*
Riley Lovingood - 5.2 2*
That would be awesome. What's the deal with Bruce? It seems like even some of the experts on here are a little bothered by the take at this point.
They dont like him because he runs mid 4.5s-4.6 and that his competition isnt great. But the dude makes some serious cuts and has great vision. I like him, but I feel that he could be a grayshirt candidate. Im pretty sure he would accept too, because he is a big UT fan.
If you havent watched this yet, I made this a few days before the Orange Carpet weekend. Since I made it, weve added Kamara, Oliver, Smith and Picou. This video might remove some of your doubt

That was just what I needed to power through my tower! Cecil is going to light some gators and elephants up! Bruce does look slow, but shifty. Where does Woods project at the next level?
Heres some more info about our 2/3 stars. Heres some of their offers (not all of their offers)
Griffin (10)- Clemson, Duke, GTech, Michigan, UNC, NCState
Jackson (6)- Bama, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford, Vandy
Bruce (2)- Memphis
Oliver (14)- Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Miss St
Picou (20)- Cinci, GTech, Miami, Ole Miss, Miss St, Mizzou, NCState, Ohio State, TAMU
Reid (13)- Arky, GTech, KState, Louisville, NCState, WVU, Wisconsin
Smith (16)- Cinci, Florida, GTech, LSU, Miami, UNC, SCAR
Woods (2)- Clemson
Dormady (9)- Bama, UK, OKState, TCU, Vandy
Those are all decent to good offer lists for the most part and these guys could end up being solid players but do you see any program changers in there? The kind of player that we need to beat bama at Their place? Players that will hit you in the mouth and get in your face and almost get a taunting penalty, but hold off at the last second?
How do you get through the day or sleep at night or deal with the anxiety knowing that we got 5 commits in two or three days and only one of them is a clean 4* star sweep. That doesn't sit we'll with me for the moment. If they get a bump then everything changes, but until then, WHAT DO WE DO??
Most people have our qb as a 4 star. Kid is top notch. He's only ranked low because he missed last season with an injury.
Picou is a 4 star on 247.
And incase you're unaware, they don't rank kickers or long snappers as 4 or 5 stars.
You can't look at film as a "good play vs. bad play" perspective. You have to be able to see deeper into the film. Some people can evaluate film, some can't.There are a lot of variables that play into film. Competition. All the guys that claim to watch film and evaluate these players, I mean, do they really know what they are doing?
