What has kiffin ever accomplished, he either got fired left under pressure except for leaving TN. Do you think he really wanted to leave AL for a small FL school, wait till he really accomplishes something.

LOL if Majors wasnt so old i would be in on majors . I think majors is a great X and O coach and great at fundamentals of the game. In todays game i think coaching is just important as recruiting . During Fulmers time you could recruit your way to the top . Now everyone is on top of the recruiting and evaluating players so the game has swung back to coaches that coach well . I will also say Majors was a master at time management in games . Also he understood how important momentum in a game meant.

Jeff Brohm is the only gettable coach according to the Google Hire list.

:(

you think paying a 15 million buyout is gettable??? Do a little research before spewing names. Brohm would require us to pay a 15+million buyout of his current contract plus pay for Butch to leave. You would have north of 30 million in a coach from Purdue......

Let's see a NC as an Offensive co-ordinator and Have you checked out the stats at FAU this year? You might not like him, but he is a good offensive co-ordinator and his brother Chris is a very good defensive co-ordinator. I'll take that over CBJ any day.:hi:

I would add Lane Kiffin to that list, believe it or not.:eek:hmy:

Kiffin is a human worm, but he is miles ahead of Butch in coaching ability. Never thought I would say this but I would take him back. However his contract would call for him to pay UT $10 million if he bolts on his own.

He left Al to be a head coach at FAU. He will move up, which is what he wanted. Rumor is Kiffin will be in the UCF race, if it opens up.

James Franklin would be a great coach here. NO on petrino i just don't like him. Norvell maybe if we exhaust alot of other coaches those being Frost, Kelly and Kiffin. YES i said Kiffin LOL.

Why the f would Franklin want to leave PSU; they have as much tradition as UT.

Louisville is in last place in their division with the defending Heisman winner at quarterback. I wish everyone would get over their crush on Petrino.

Ditto. He's a hack that does well for a couple years with other people's recruits. He completely neglects defensive recruiting and they end up looking like they do this year

Or Tom Osborne. He’s only 80 and had a lot of wins left in him.

I heard Vince Lombardi's body was frozen, we could thaw him out and get a couple of years out of him probably? He might not get "it" though, or bad personality.... so yea let's scratch that idea.

I didnt imply that Franklin would come but he would be on my offer list . He would have to turn me down as would Kelly. Kiffin i would hire and try to get the contract in my favor and if he was smart he would take the deal . Believe it or not Kiffin and UT could both benefit from the other.

Hiring Kiffin would be like a coworker, who served in Vietnam during the war, said about the whorehouses. "You went there again, knowing damn well you were going to get the clap again but you went anyway......"

LMFAO i love this post !!!!!!!!! I would give it a hundred thumbs up. I think Kiffin would do well here if given a chance but i can see how some people would be leary of him . I want Tennessee to be on top again and i think one day Kiffin will become an adult and when that day comes he will win big where ever he is the coach . Sure would rather have him on our side than the other . Saban hired Kiffin because he can coach offense and is a miracle worker with QBs

No one we hire is going to be a for sure homerun hire . So i think both Kiffin and Kelly are as equal as anyone else we hire . Its all kinda of a crap shoot. I just think we could get a favorable contract with Kiffin .

I think his body was frozen in the game against Dallas, so he was in his prime.

James Franklin is a no go. He is at a better and more storied program. Tennessee would not represent any semblance of even a lateral move for him.

I honestly know nothing about Chip Kelly.

Mike Norvell is as far East as he is going to go. Honestly, he smells alot like Butch Jones but with far less resume'.

Remember 5 years ago?
Jon Gruden "no"
Larry Fedora "no"
Mike Gundy "no"
Charlie Strong "no"
Butch Jones "what?...me?..."

and that's only the ones we knew about.

Fast forward to 2018.

Kirby Smart ":eek:lol:"
Jon Gruden ":neener2:"
Chip Kelly ":moon2:"
James Franklin ":disappointed:"
Mike Norvell (or insert any Googlable name) ":elephant:"

Thanks for letting me clear this up.
