I said I would let it play out. We’re 3.5 hours from the portal closing. Only 15 of the top 100 guys in the portal are available and you haven’t land a commitment from either of your two biggest targets this cycle (Juke & Tanner, obviously).

You land Juke or talk Ament back then I think you have something. Otherwise, you’re no better off than last season. I thought the goal was to get Rick to a Final Four? Just making my position known 🤷🏻‍♂️

Juke for Ament
Hill for Gillespie

Currently Rubin for Okpara is the only one that seems to be a down grade, but when you consider Lundblade and Ames you have a net gain overall.

Plus that’s not even considering if Ament returns.

Nah, we’ve had a great portal class. Undeniable. Still think we need a “game changer” like Juke and a good 5 man to give us a real chance at a Final Four though.

I agree. I think Juke is ours but we just have to wait until May likely. Hopefully we can get Thiam or Diop in for a visit. We need more help in post to combat the Gators. We are solid with our guards.

Rubin didn't really play any high major teams to have an idea of how he might perform at this level. I think we all hope it translates, but we just don't know.

It’s also his position. Bigger guys in the SEC. Didn’t care for turnover numbers either. But we really need him for defense and just an average offense.

Tanner wasn’t a target if he was never in the portal, that’s the best example of you complaining just for the sake of complaining we’ll ever see.

Juke is still out there, and we are the favorite, you do realize portal closing tonight doesn’t mean we can’t continue adding players. Right?

Some mocks have juke going in late first round. Holdup may be him talking to nba teams to see if they will take him then. His draft stock has gone up.

100%…I don’t think the holdup has anything to do with his choice in where he wants to play in college next season.

I stated pretty clearly that landing Juke would alter my current opinion. Still optimistic there.

My perception of what’s left in the portal is that it’s relatively bare. As discussed, I think 1-2 depth bigs are probably in the cards but certainly wouldn’t change my outlook unless it’s one of the “elite” ones that seemingly are carrying odd requests.

Added a bunch of big men to the front page, but figured I would also post separate, I’m sure there’s more names but here’s some…

I think Tennessee definitely has some level of interest in Hastings, Bambgoye & Lue, we’ll see if any of them get visits scheduled this week, or any other names for potential visits.

I think there’s also an outside chance that Tennessee could explore Fred Payne, the former BC guard, he’s a combo type much like Hill but has played PG at times and takes good care of the ball. Would be another high level scorer they could potentially add in the backcourt.

Call me a sucker for upside but Ament has a chance in year two to be as dominate as we’ve seen since Anthony Davis at Kentucky. I think his ability to affect the game defensively could be highly undervalued in the college game from what we even expect from him. He could dominate a game on both ends.

Ya know the more I see folks pop up in these threads the more I begin to realize they all think the portal window closing also means you can't add anyone...

(not to you bTo, but to these other yahoos)

We could add a portal big in July...as long as they are in the portal they are available to be added until July 1st basically.
