My logic says we didn’t based on the numbers what keeps getting thrown around. My impression is we offered what we thought was fair before the portal opened and the real bidding started.

We allegedly offered JP $2 mil and perhaps went as high as $2.5 mil to keep him. That doesn't sound competitive?

If my superstar is a truly elite PG like Tanner, I'd feel awesome about the rest being balanced bucket-getters. Bonus if we get two superstars and the rest can all still score, of course.

One can not win a championship without a stellar point guard and a hot shooting 2 guard. The final requirement is a dominating 5 on both offense and defense.

Sounds outrageous to me, but the earlier posted survey indicated quality portal bigs are getting $4-5 million? Maybe there’s somebody on here that truly knows what all these guys are getting but if the survey is accurate, would you take 2.5 to stay if you thought you could get 4+ elsewhere? Again, these are crazy numbers we’re hearing and we have no way to know if accurate.

More than fair. He is not worth 3. A big man that misses lots of shots inside with a bad foot.

Doesn’t matter once other schools enter the picture. They may also have been on him just as long. We were on Freeman last year since about December and Auburn entered late, offered more and got him.

He’s a 23% 3P shooter. Putting him at the 3 would kill spacing.

We offered what they were worth to us. I'd think our staff would have unique insight into each player.
