2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Trying to get some clarity on that, I’m not sure. I’m leaning towards they’ll roll with Hill, but again I’m not positive, spots are gonna start getting tight.
Would love to hear, but I guess we'll find out sooner rather than later regardless.

If Hill is the PG and we get Juke and a big, could see something like this:

Hill
Harris
Lundblade
Haralson
Rubin
-
Ames
Brown
Hastings

That's a great rotation - would feel best if we had a 9th guy we could count on, and in this configuration that would hopefully be a guard/PG.

We need another big, if only for fouls alone.

Well that is disgusting
I think they may just be looking at “hey he started on an elite eight team, shoots a good percentage from 3, plays good/great defense and has experience playing in a good/great defense, and can cover PG if needed”. I can kinda get with that line of thinking.

Of course, then there’s the FT% that shows the 3PT shooting might be a mirage based on the number of attempts especially if usage is increased, the turnovers, and creation not being shown as a skillset on film…

That all seems like surface-level stuff, though. I would like to think that people willing to spend $2 million on a player are more willing to deep dive more than that. I'd love to know what Tennessee (the team that knows him better than anyone) was willing to pay him? If I am a school paying more than that, I'm probably wondering why?

Love to see Barnes and Co take a different approach after last year's portal mess.
Not sure Id say last year was a mess. Got outbid for one by UsC, didnt have a major one guy wanted. I don’t think the approach last year was the issue. Hes got more money this year. More money makes it easier.

Yeah…I don’t see a lot of reasons other than surface level reasons to be depending on him as better than your 4-5th best player on an NCAA tournament making team, really

Seems like Barnes never mentioned Boswell without glowing over how hard he works every day. If you don’t already have leaders like that on your roster then I could see a lot of value in that.

Eh, missing on both McNeely and Rice was not ideal. Turned out ok but that would hang given us another shooter getting one of them
