2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Same here. I listen for some "noise" while working. I've been an on/off listener for about 25 years, but pretty active for the last 5 or 6.

Most guests are interesting (I turn off the Watson Brown segment every week...waste of time). Callers are hit or miss...most of the serial callers are boring and predictable, but a few are really good. I like callers like "Mark in Columbus" because he has original thought and doesn't just pander to Tony.

Tony's just so sensitive and soft but tries to overcompensate with his "I don't care what anybody thinks" persona when it is crystal clear that he absolutely cares what people think about him The whole YouTube suspending commentors is sooo weak, but is proof positive he absolutely cares what people think. And now he has started pandering his audience for "likes" and donations in the form of superchat comments (paid ability to comment and have it highlighted) and then rejects the claims he's begging for money, even threatening to end the show if he doesn't hit "X" number of likes in a certain time period. His incessant need to be the smartest person in the room, and the way he treats Brian (his producer) on air is embarrassing. If I were Brian, I had have left that show a long time ago and told Tony to shove it.

I keep telling myself I'm going to stop listening because it just gets worse every week. Not the content, necessarily, but his arrogance and narcissism are just becoming intolerable.
Sounds like 'ol slurp and burp has devolved even further. Someone posted he's losing sponsors? Guy used to talk over his guests and callers, too. The end for me was his screaming sound effects and stuffing his face. So unprofessional. Got no time for that. Plus his acolyte callers bored me to tears.

Look at the results of our last three years in the tournament. Our bigs were not big enough. Edey was like a man among boys. We got killed inside by Houston. This year's final four featured 7'3", 7.2" a pair of 7'1"s and a 6'11" and all were in the 250 to 270lb range. I would hate to see UT get all these great 1s, 2s, and 3s and fall short (no pun intended) with our 4s and 5s. I was hoping we would land the big fish in all positions and finally break through to the final four or even a national championship. There were no positions that were weak on either that Michigan team or even the Arizona team.
Samet Yigitoglu looks like a Uros Plavsic replacement/upgrade. Update: he signed with Indiana today.

He likes to hear himself talk way too much.
He's also really mean to Brian and Titans Bill.
I'm over it. But to each his or her own.
Titans Bill deserves it for never being on topic, talking about stuff no one else cares about, and just incessantly calling to discuss what is on tv and actresses that are 90+ years old.

Brian, on the other hand, should tell Tony to produce his own show and kick rocks.

I'm with you. There's been a shift and I don't like it. It's one thing to jostle with callers but it's gone further lately. Way more than not. And it's boring bc he rarely answers the phone anymore. Someone above said his show is more popular than ever. I don't think so bc sponsors are jumping ship.

Love that album by the way!
He says it’s more popular than ever and that he’s great at his job, and he is good at it but telling the audience every day youre good is a bit much. Tyler and Will do it too.

Come on now...

Aday Mara for Michigan is 7'3" 240lbs the only big on that team over 6'9" though...16 vs Saint Louis, 8 vs Bama, 11 vs Vols, 26 vs Arizona, 8 vs UConn... he had one great game against Arizona

UConn has Eric Reibe on the roster...he's 7'1" 260lbs and played 36 minutes in the tournament with 6 points total

Illinois has 2 of these bigs themselves with the Ivisic brothers Tomislav is 7'1 255, Zvonimir is 7'2" 234lbs Big Z played 69 total minutes in the tournament and scored 14 total points

Arizona only had Krivas, 7'2" 260lbs...his tournament was underwhelming as well... 9 pts vs Long Island, 11 pts vs Utah State, 14 vs Arkansas, 6 vs Purdue and 11 vs Michigan

What's really important is being a top seed and you get there by having a team that can win in the SEC. Which requires athletic bigs who can guard outside the paint.

You had 2 1seed a 2 and a 3 in the Final Four

As for our previous exits... Houston didn't have a single player over 6'8" in that game and against Purdue/Edey...we all know how that story goes. Awaka 5 fouls, Mashack 5 fouls, JJJ 4 fouls, JP 3 fouls, Aidoo 3 fouls (and a no show) and Edey shot 22 free throws by himself, double the number we took as a team.

It’s crazy, I defended him vigorously for years on VN and now it’s like “you know what, I kinda get it…” Not sure if he changed or if I changed .

Right. The final four were all very big and had dominant inside games. Houston overpowered us even if they didn't have anyone over 7' tall; they were too strong for us. We couldn't stop Edey, we could only foul him. Not trying to be snarky but I'm not sure what your point is. It sounds like you are agreeing with me. I don't want our bigs to get pushed around and overpowered by final four teams with bigger stronger players.

I’m with you. Arizona had size but they got trashed by Michigan because they didn’t have shooting.
