2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

I struggle to get excited by Miles Rubin, but we’re also fielding an entirely new team next year so it’s hard to judge what role he’ll play until the roster is complete.
I'm NGL I watched a little bit of him earlier and I was a little underwhelmed. He looked a tad slow and stiff. Really hope he isn't the plan for our starting 5.

Not play style, but looks wise…. a mix between Jordon Poole and Jonas Aidoo

That scares me.

I don’t think he’s the plan for the starting 5 unless things go wrong elsewhere, but even as a bench piece I’m not sure he represents an upgrade over Cade Phillips. But, I guess the health with Phillips was the biggest concern.

Barnes likes this guy and is loyal to. Isn’t he and Henderson the only ones left from last season?
Didn’t earlier in the season Burg was nowhere to be found and the rumor was he wanted to go back to the European league he left but they don’t allow players to come back.

Yep. Can't recall the source, but there were concerns about some aspects of his game. My memory stinks and I can't recall what his deficiencies were alleged to be. Not sure he's a banger tho. Seems a bit light and he's terrible at the FT line.
This, I think. Plenty of hops and blocks. A good Okpara replacement.

I don't think we're looking at Ames as a PG, though he could give us minutes there. He's not going to scare off Johnson.
I’m thinking the other way around. I think Johnson is more of a pure scorer than a PG. I don’t think Ames/Johnson pair super well.

Hines is a monster. I really hope we can land him.

“Najai Hines is a portal name to know:
—18.0 MPG (7th on Seton Hall)
—3rd in Big East in PER & WS/40 (Tarris Reed & Zuby Ejiofor)
—4th in nation in blocks rate & most BPG by BE freshman in 10 yrs
—Highest reb rate by BE frosh since Donovan Clingan

Limited minutes, major impact”
Now we're talkin'.

We’ve gone from Tyler Tanner and Bryson Tiller to Malik Mack and Miles Rubin. Going to write “I will not freak out until I see the final class” on a whiteboard 100 times.

The sooner we accept that the University of Tennessee does not have the money to compete for national titles in basketball the happier we’ll all be.

Nope, they brought in several new pieces and were expected to improve. They added a top 10 hs recruit that averaged 17.8 this season, the MWC Newcomer of the Year who'd averaged 18 ppg at Wyoming, in the portal along with several other pieces like Carr. They were predicted to finish 7th in the Big 12, and got preseason top 25 votes. They finished 13th in the Big 12 and didn't sniff the field of 68.
Exactly.
