2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

You do realize that you are criticizing Carr because his team didn't do well (borderline blaming him for their failures), but conversely you don't give burns or Awaka any credit for being major contributors on their teams. Whatever.
I'm just speaking facts. Awaka didn't turn into a magical unicorn at Arizona, he was the same guy he was here. DJ Burns was average as hell for 5 years and his team had a hot streak late in his 5th year. Carr scored hollow points on a team that didn't require effort on one end of the floor.

They didn't represent some massive failure by Barnes, which is what the post I responded to implied.

So it was the exact same team only difference was Cam Carr?
No, just looked it up they replaced literally every player on the roster. Dude would've been 2 in PER, 1 in TS, and 2 in BPM on our team this year. He's really good. It's unfortunate he's a quitter but he's a great basketball player.

Any chance y'all can take the Carr and Tobe talk somewhere else? I'm willing to bet no one wants to see it.
I stopped caring about Carr and Tobe the moment they left; I do have those moments where I check in to see how they're doing with their other teams, maybe find the mind wandering for a moment about what could've been, but nothing so pressing that I have to post about it here or on TOS

There was high confidence “our to lose” confidence a few days ago. The UNC contact is troubling. That was part of my reference earlier about UNC. They are going to be a difficult beat anytime they’re involved.
First I’ve heard of them being involved at all…heard Auburn was the top contender for him.

From VQ looks like the 2 main true PG targets are Jacob Walker from Sam Houston (originally from Memphis in HS) & Isaiah Johnson from Colorado.

Dai Dai for sure being brought in as a CG that can also run point, but as expected they would want to add a true PG even if they land him.
I’d take Isaiah Johnson right now. A lot of Kennedy chandler to his game

So it was the exact same team only difference was Cam Carr?
Nope, they brought in several new pieces and were expected to improve. They added a top 10 hs recruit that averaged 17.8 this season, the MWC Newcomer of the Year who'd averaged 18 ppg at Wyoming, in the portal along with several other pieces like Carr. They were predicted to finish 7th in the Big 12, and got preseason top 25 votes. They finished 13th in the Big 12 and didn't sniff the field of 68.

I don’t think he needs 35mpg
I agree, I just don’t see Dewayne averaging the 15 mins/game he had last season if we brought in Hines, Dowd, and Rubin.

The frontcourt depth is what we need and I’m all for it, just think there’s going to be an odd man out which is likely to be Brown… unless he outperforms those guys like he did last season.
