FWIW this was Dai Dai Ames & Jeremiah Wilkinson…thought the perception contrast was funny, many of the same ones whining about Ames have been lobbying for a bucket getter like Wilkinson.

That’s really not true lol. Each of the last three years (Knecht, Lanier, JG) we’ve gotten a top-5 portal player.

OK, watched some film on Ames. I'm convinced. He does the kinds of things no one at that position could for us this year. Gets to the rim, handles the ball extremely well (remarkably low TO #s for as much and the way he handles the ball), he plays bigger than his size (fades on his midrange to create separation and is strong and crafty in traffic), handles the ball well with both hands.

Sign me up.

Add in he's an 85% free throw shooter which really complements his playstyle.

Tony is refusing to mention Tanner and doesn’t believe Ament is returning. Haven’t heard what he said about Juke.

This is a transfer portal thread...sharing what the reigning champions did in their most recent portal haul as a measuring stick is all that I was doing.

Yaxel, Morez, Mara, Elliot were their top 4 scorers (all portal players) Gayle was a 2nd year portal player...that's 5 of their top 6 players in MPG.

McKenney was the true freshman...only other guys that saw good minutes were Burnett (originally a transfer too) and Cason (before injury) it was a roster built with transfers though, anyone trying to sell you something different is crazy.

146.9 of their 200.7 mpg came from transfers

85% FT? Won't that be refreshing! Juke and Ames can get to the basket while Lundy can contribute from outside. Kinda liking the way this picture is starting to look. Add Tanner with Henderson as a potential backup plus a rim protector and another economical outside threat....aw heck....fire up the money printer and just sign everyone.

You’re right. Sadly we were unable sign difference makers like DK, Chaz or JG.

I don’t know if you misinterpreted on purpose or not, but that’s obviously not what I said or what I was talking about at all. I don’t even know how to reply to that because it’s completely unrelated to what I said.

Every year and portal season, people work themselves into believing we’re getting some big fish that is a big secret recruitment. This year it’s Juke Harris and Tyler Tanner despite literally no credible person (VQ, Trilly, 247) saying there is anything real going on there. The entirety of the Tanner pipe dream is based off of two posters on vol nation.

JG, Chaz, and DK were players that every credible media member and insider reported on immediately from the jump. There was no secrecy with any of them.
