Yeah, that was the spirit in my earlier reply about people overestimating the value of $1 mil in this current environment. Lots of kids you'd never believe will be getting that much, next year and it just keeps growing exponentially. As you said, they will soon price themselves out of the market without some guardrails like collective bargaining, salary cap, etc.Wow - if you’re right and there’s folks questioning paying JP $1 million? This current $NIL doesn’t seem sustainable.
Just curious, which is your preference; Rice or Lundblade? I can make a case for either, probably.A best case hope is probably a guy like that I have posted in my OP, Lazerek Houston…D2 guy who was a prolific scorer this year as a freshman, not gonna command money likely a proven D1 guy, maybe he hits and maybe he doesn’t, but likely to cost a whole lot less than a Rice or Wilkinson. If you could add those 3: Foxwell, Houston & Lundblade along with a rim protector you’re potentially cooking, adding a bunch of offensive firepower.
I meant Rodney and mixed up his ligament injury. Point the same, I personally would be a little hesitant overspending on guy coming off season ending injury expecting them to be leading scorer. That's just me though.Okay I think the poster is thinking of Myles. Pretty sure he ended up with a leg injury.

Nah, although I see the Australian connection. His brother plays in the Australian league and is committed to LSU although he doesn't have a recruiting profile. You talkng about Vaughns?
OK, that's what I was wondering. Thanks! Didn't realize he was committed to them, so the other Aussie is just a coincidence...lolNah, although I see the Australian connection. His brother plays in the Australian league and is committed to LSU although he doesn't have a recruiting profile.

Maybe take a look at Ryan Blount from Tampa in Div II. He entered the portal a couple weeks ago. He was the DII National player of the week a couple of times this season. He's 6'6 and a sophomore that averaged 21 a game this season after averaging 11 as a freshman. He's shot 41 percent from 3 two straight seasons.A best case hope is probably a guy like that I have posted in my OP, Lazerek Houston…D2 guy who was a prolific scorer this year as a freshman, not gonna command money likely a proven D1 guy, maybe he hits and maybe he doesn’t, but likely to cost a whole lot less than a Rice or Wilkinson. I think it’s Rice by a wide margin, but without knowing price tags that’s an easier case to be made…we know Rice can do it at this level and be all conference, we’ve seen guys from Belmont take a year or two and struggle, no doubt Rice would be the more sure thing imo, but also imagine him costing nearly double.Just curious, which is your preference; Rice or Lundblade? I wonder if the shoulder injury knocks his price down at all?I think it’s Rice by a wide margin, but without knowing price tags that’s an easier case to be made…we know Rice can do it at this level and be all conference, we’ve seen guys from Belmont take a year or two and struggle, no doubt Rice would be the more sure thing imo, but also imagine him costing nearly double.
I'd rather have Lundblade and use the $ savings to get the best PG we can get. We only have so much money to go around and I'll be pissed if Rice burns us 2 years in a row. If we could get, say, Tanner and Lundblade? That seems like a home run to me. Still have Boswell coming off the bench. Evans becomes your starting 3. We still have to nail down our posts, but that would seemingly put us in much better position next year than this past year.I think it’s Rice by a wide margin, but without knowing price tags that’s an easier case to be made…we know Rice can do it at this level and be all conference, we’ve seen guys from Belmont take a year or two and struggle, no doubt Rice would be the more sure thing imo, but also imagine him costing nearly double.
Thanks. Unlike some, you rarely attack others. Even for having a different opinion.Usually it is a staff member that has connections overseas. And then once you start building that relationship, get guys who are comfortable being around players with similar backgrounds, and those guys succeed, it is a selling point to future overseas guys. Chain reaction.
The Big 10 school you are thinking of is actually likely Illinois. Both Ivisic brothers, Stojacovic, Mirkovich, among others. Geoff Alexander is their assistant coach with all the connections in Europe.
