The problem defensively is that they have a ton of guards and bigs. Kendrich Williams (who is most likely on his way out, and seems like a good fit for Detroit?) and J Will are the only medium-sized guys, and with J Will out, that roster weakness was very apparent. Spurs had several guys who would dribble penetrate, and then just bump the smaller guy off his spot with the shoulder. Keldon Johnson did it to Chet, too. šŸ˜„

Dort is good at holding his ground, but not that tall (he was kind of a ghost in this series, and is likely gone, too).

Yeah. I mean, I almost think #12 and #17 in this draft, for them, might be more valuable than moving up. They have the stars, right? They need to replace role players, Caruso/Dort/Hartenstein, those type of players. In this draft, if you could get Yaxel at #12 and Philon at #17...that might be better

Also, if I am the Pistons, I'm calling Presti every meal trying to get Wiggins or Joe for a boat load of 2nd's. Those guys are good and they would fit perfectly in Detroit.

They already have a 15-man roster for next year, so to accommodate two 1st round picks, they gotta move two guys.

I started thinking about one more kind of move for them....they should be trying to find a really awesome bargain on an established guy, like they have with Ajay Mitchell, and they can make a Godfather deal because of these roster building constraints the league puts on them....

There is a guy who is kinda proven, young and developing, can play 3 and D, and he's a big athletic wing on one of the best contracts in the league. What would the Grizzlies give up for Cedric Coward? @95 Vol Alum

I'm thinking Grizzlies would want to try to move Ja or KCP in the deal or get something like this back:

Cason Wallace,
#12 this year,
Wiggins

The Ringer actually has Wallace quite a bit higher in the trade value rankings, but I can understand Memphis wanting to keep Coward.

Dealing Coward makes no sense for the Grizzlies unless they are absolutely fleecing a team in the process. I think BS sums it up well:

I don't fault you for loving Coward but you may be underselling Wallace. That dude is a proven MF. He is not scared of the moment. He's all defensive, he's a totally dependable shooter in the biggest moments, and he has untapped potential. He is only 22. I don't think OKC would trade them straight up if the salaries were the same.

I don’t see why OKC would want Ja.
