2026 Midterm Thread

The parents chose it. You had to apply to send your kid there. You had to have a masters to even teach there. My wife liked the you go 9 weeks then had 3 weeks off. Your summer break was 6 weeks. After the week of 4th July you went back to school. That took a little use to getting to
what about athletic teams and extra-c?

"America clearly needs more revenue as the time ticks toward $40 trillion of debt. It also has a significant spending problem.

Before we demand more from taxpayers, maybe we should demand more accountability from Washington.

Until someone can clearly define what "fair share" actually means in real dollars, real percentages, and real outcomes, it remains exactly what it is today.

A soundbite and a slogan. And those two things don’t balance our budget."

You're the one who calls conservatives nazis. It's ironic because liberals and Hitler have way more in common
Whatever you say, Nazi-Maga. whatever ypu say. We understand your need to deny the truth and deflect fault on others. Proceed.

Party of pedophile protectors can’t have one of their own not protecting pedophiles and doing Israel’s bidding.

"Major donors aren’t giving. Liberal influencers are publicly questioning Martin’s refusal to release an internal report on the party’s failures. And Democratic operatives have begun informal discussions about recruiting a new chair, even as most believe that Martin’s job isn’t in serious jeopardy ahead of the midterm elections.

Amanda Litman, who leads the Democratic-allied organization Run For Something, said she’s been approached by senior strategists in recent days gauging her interest in replacing Martin. She declined but said many in the party have lost faith in the DNC leader.

“I think it’s a really hard job, and also Ken is not doing it very well,” Litman told The Associated Press. “I honestly think he’s going to have a hard time rebuilding trust.”

The national party reported $22.1 million cash on hand with $18.4 million in debt at the end of March, according to its most recent federal filing. The Republican National Committee, by contrast, reported $116.8 million in the bank with zero debt.

Martin has been aggressively courting big-dollar donors, despite their demonstrated reluctance to give to the committee. He acknowledged pressure related to the autopsy in some of the conversations and indicated changes could be coming soon, according to two people with direct knowledge of the discussions but not authorized to share them."

I'd like to hear the opinion of parents who have sent their kid to year round schooling.
Really liked it for my kids grades k-5.

Breaks every 9 weeks let us schedule vacation trips that were “seasonally appropriate”, and often at lower off-season rates for some locations.

2-3 week break was just enough for kids to recharge and get back into learning groove.

Childcare during breaks was an issue, but plenty of stay-at-home moms were willing to help, and the school provided “vacation care” for those who needed it. Win for parents, and extra income for teacher-sitters.

Worked great for oldest 2. Didn’t do it with youngest; he needed language services that were o ly available ad traditional schedule school.

Would absolutely consider it again, if I was in that position.
